Its definitely from a reliable installer if not the best one in Kuching. But hearing others say bad things to the brand and all is  vmad.gif Its like they are making fun stp, of the guy who has tons of good reputation and my decision.

I'm pretty sure insulation in my car is better than before. Wait till i tell my installer im sure he wont be happy hearing about this. Anyway the other place showed me their "Dyana" and how thick it is and knock one of the car doors their to proof it doh.gif But i feel better now that i hear some better explanations here.

its like having a SQ setup and being laugh over and over again by the "open boot deaf guys"..

reason they laugh is because i spend so much money for punny bass, they spend a fraction for tons of cheap egos...

get it over with buddy... smile.gif

LOL i had that experience before also, i just laugh at them from the inside laugh.gif

for the IEM/headphone segment: its like the beats spenders vs your typical audiophile brands, except the beats guys spend MORE than your typical brand (unless you're talking bout the highend/flagship lineups) LOL!

The Rainbow I have installed is the entry level SLX I think. I didn't bother to ask back then since I had it installed as a guinea pig (ie-experiment). It worked surprisingly good without an amp and with the stock HU. It's recommended to be done with the door panel though which is different from the door panel you find in most shops. The speaker holder and all are placed higher up nearer to the arm rest rather than the usual low down at the door panel position (see picture)

[attachmentid=2787394]

The price should be in the RM1300 range including speaker wiring and all. Could be cheaper since I had this installed close to 3 years ago.

CV Audio doesn't sell imitation stuff. If they do they'd be in a lot of trouble since 90% of their customers are all luxury cars and sports cars. In this sort of community all you need is one person to complain and everyone else will know what happened and then you can say byebye to your business.

Thanks bro izso for sharing ur experience...guess the only thing I could do now is find a day when I'm free and head over to CV Audio to audit the rainbow system smile.gif

One question bro...regarding the placement of the front speaker...why does it have to be so high up towards near the armrest level? Any purpose for doing that? Coz I really wouldnt want to tamper with my door panel and would prefer it at the bottom to replace my originate speaker...

Thanks...

Guys, I had installed a Pioneer AVH-4350DVD already, very happy cause now can see MTV everytime. But the price I paid is RM1780, I think it is consider overprice after I research in lowyat forum.

Now I want to upgrade my ICE again, its either subwoofer or speaker.

Package A: RM1050
PEGASUS 161 6.5" Mid one-way Speaker
PEGASUS tweeter 128 (I love the clarity of human voice of this tweeter very much!)
Tweeter holder
PEGASUS Crossover
TRANS 4channel amp
Labour charge and wiring

Package B: RM1300
PAWS woofer 12" + wood box
TRANS mono block
Labour charge and wiring

Package C: RM1310
Sound Damping and sound proof for two front door RM250
STELLAR 6.5" component set RM400
Labour charge and wiring RM80
TRANS active Subwoofer RM580

Package D: RM1705
AMERON 298 4channel amp RM585
AMERON 62N component set RM485
MBQ 10E active subwoofer RM490
Labour charge and wiring RM145

So far I got these few package from three different shop (Package A and B are from the same shop).

All sifu, please help me see which package I should get, or pin point which is good deal and bad deal.
Another question is, install a full set subwoofer like Package B or MBQ active sub is better, is the difference really that big between full set sub and active sub?

Thank you so much for the long question. notworthy.gif

Erm.. I don't know what car you drive, but for Myvi the front door panels don't hold any speakers. So for a Myvi to have to have midbass in the door panels, you'll have to custom. And I had it done up so I don't kick it which is a common thing amongst people who have their midbass installed in the usual lower down location (in any car). Sound wise I can't comment because I don't have another Myvi with the exact setup except for the different door panel mould placement to compare with.

If you already have some space in the door panel for a speaker, then there's obviously no need to customize it unless the speaker hole is too small. On average I recommend going 6.5 inch midbass or 5 inch midbass (or larger!) anything smaller than that tends to lack in terms of midbass. But that's my personal opinion anyway.

Sound is very subjective. I once sat in Howiechoo's tuning sessions with one of his competition cars. I couldn't hear what it was he was trying to remove! He said there was this 'high frequency sound' which I completely was tone deaf to.

none of the package you mentioned. however if you cant stretch your budget, or willing to do it stage by stage/used equipment, then do as you like.

Oops wrong quote. Anyway Its definitely from a reliable installer if not the best one in Kuching. But hearing others say bad things to the brand and all is  vmad.gif Its like they are making fun stp, of the guy who has tons of good reputation and my decision. But yea seriously if they dunno Stp and thinks its lousy they just gave me a bad impression. If the stuff is free they can bash it but im not happy to think my costly insulation is useless.

Insulflex is a very misleading material to be used and be called a "cheap soundproof" solution.

But if you use it on the door metal, knocking on it would give you a result comparable to STP Silver. So when you start driving around, you will know why people pay more to get those PROPER soundproof material. icon_idea.gif

Every soundproof material also has it advantage. You'll have to apply it correctly and use it as recommended.

I wouldn't say there is something called the best soundproofing material, unless your talking about the thickness and density of STP BOMB.

Sekian, please buy soundproof materials only from me. whistling.gif

Bro, what do you mean by 'none of the package'? Are they all overprice or unreliable product?
By streching my budget, how much should I stretch until? Cause actually above mentioned are already strechED budget for me. So if let say I cant stretch any further, based on the above, which is a good deal. Maybe mix and match between package?

btw, I don't mind do it stage by stage or used equip. But due to I'm from KK sabah, so there will be a bit difficult for me to source a used set. blush.gif

chicken brand, so for my opinion, personally i wont go for any of the listed packages, i would save more. however its your money so if you dont want to spend more for reputable brands, then by all means go ahead.

no idea.

however a better alternative i would suggest is a good single din HU, and use AUX in to the HU and you can still use your android phone/tablet to control.

rm500 for amp you will most likely get chicken brands. even reputable branded used amps i am not sure you can get for rm500.
