Hi guys,

Any sifus here mind giving some advice on the below?

- My ride: Proton Saga BLM
- Prefers SQ/SPL/SQL: SQL
- File format/medium used for my source: MP3, Audio CD, Radio
- Music genre: Everything from trance -> pop -> rock -> hip hop -> classical
- Budget: 2k flexible
- Setup type preferences: HU + front components for now. Upgrade with amps + woofers if necessary in the future
- Other requirements (if any): USB + MP3 random access functionality
Has anyone tested Focal 165/v30s and Eton Adventure A1-160s? Anyone knows if they're any good and what their price range would be?

Anyone heard of the Alpine 133BT? Again, any ideas on pricing and if they're any good?

Any advice forthcoming would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

If you want comparison between Eton and Focal, for your type of music, I would say Eton. Tested, very nice. thumbup.gif

Thanks for your feedback. So you've tested both sets of components?

Any ideas on the price range?

The Etons cost more than the Focals, right? Is the hike in price worth it?

Do you think the equipments I listed would be suitable for my purposes?

Sorry for the barrage of questions, haha. I'm at the point of cluelessness right now. Still trying to find my footing in this field and really not sure where to look for information relevant to the local ICE scene.
*
Have you listen to it yourself before? You should.

I have tested Focal Access 165A1 and the 7" Eton that I am helping my friend to sell. Never try V30.

Eton sound more clearer, more clarify.

I see. I've tested the V30 vs the KR2. I thought the V30s were good. Until I heard the KR2s. lol.

I hope to test the Etons myself eventually. But before that, I don't suppose you have any ideas on the pricing or if it's worth the price hike?
*
V30 I think it is around 1.7k. KR2 = 2k+++. Your Eton, I have no idea. My Eton is only 1K.

Justification of the price hike, you decide lar... It will come from your own pocket and you will enjoy it yourself.

All brand of speakers will have different range and different characters, all boil down to your own preference.

Btw, Focal I think plenty of shops do offer test unit. Eton, I have not see it yet.

Wow. Thanks for the info, guys!!

Anymore opinions on those speakers? How do the Eton Adventures fare against the Focal KR2s?

Any recommendations for alternatives in the range of the Focal 165/V30?

Any opinions on the Alpine CDE-133BT? Price? Performance? Functionality? Alternatives?

Does my plan and budget sound feasible in context of my preferences?
*
Bro, Kau punya 2k for HU and comp set kah?

If so, looks healthy ler ...

Alpine CDE-133BT, looks like you are going for feature HU. Then I guess Alpine should suit you just nice.

Yup. 2k + installation and cables.

What do you mean by feature HU?
*
Feature HU to me, I would say priority is given to having the funtions like BT ke, iPhone ke, iPod connectivity ke .... etc ke.

Instead of sound and EQ function.

2K is just nice lar... But definitely cannot get the KR2 and the V30 lor. You may settle for Focal PS165 or Morel Tempo .... or Alpine Type R. Or many more that around the range of 1K.... because I dunno how much is the HU you want to buy.

Hi sifu's,

I have a few question in mind that need help from you all.

Firstly...I am using a stock speaker system with a pioneer avh-4150dvd system. However the sound quality is not up to my expectation...I would prefer a clearer vocal's and perhaps some moderate mid bass, I normally listen's to pop, r n b & dance music...now my questions is there is two components in my mind which are ;

1) rainbow slx265 deluxe 6.5"
Or
2) morel tempo 6"

between these both which is to be recommended assuming I were to run it with my HU alone without the need to add amps.

I can find and audit the morel set but I just couldn't find the rainbow set...perhaps some of you would guide me to a shop that have rainbow speaker system?

By the way my budget is around rm1k which I believe is sufficient for morel but aren't sure bout the rainbow...can someone let me know as well how much is the rainbow slx265 deluxe 6.5" ?

Thanks!!!
*
Where did you get the idea from for the Rainbow set?

Oops wrong quote. Anyway Its definitely from a reliable installer if not the best one in Kuching. But hearing others say bad things to the brand and all is  vmad.gif Its like they are making fun stp, of the guy who has tons of good reputation and my decision. But yea seriously if they dunno Stp and thinks its lousy they just gave me a bad impression. If the stuff is free they can bash it but im not happy to think my costly insulation is useless.
*
Insulflex is a very misleading material to be used and be called a "cheap soundproof" solution.

But if you use it on the door metal, knocking on it would give you a result comparable to STP Silver. So when you start driving around, you will know why people pay more to get those PROPER soundproof material. icon_idea.gif

Every soundproof material also has it advantage. You'll have to apply it correctly and use it as recommended.

I wouldn't say there is something called the best soundproofing material, unless your talking about the thickness and density of STP BOMB.

Sekian, please buy soundproof materials only from me. whistling.gif

Bro, the yi oh yi oh sound means because we install the subwoofer few year later inside thing will having some sound example from the behind board ki ko ki ko sound something like that...  sweat.gif i am not sure you understand what i means or not  unsure.gif
*
Even my C5 also have such problem after few years of usage, so that is normal.

But those sound are always treatable by doing proper sound insulation.

btw, with you planning for SQL... I don't think you can hear any yi yi oh oh sound. laugh.gif

lolololol... okay brah, wat brand u recommend for chicken brand btw? XD

I see. can u basically list out the price budget for each component? gonna list down.. smile.gif

usb one better for HU biggrin.gif
*
You can try Mohawk thou.

Since you like bass only, so I won't go detail into the sound lar.

2K should be ok, I guess. Change from HU (since you only need USB) to speakers to amp tp sub.

Detail price, sorry no idea. You will need to survey yourself with the budget in mind.

This is not cap ayam. This is cap Mohawk! brows.gif

finally u got a point same with me.....
*
Sorry, I disagree.

I noticed some just want upgrade because dunno what to upgrade from their lousy system. Some spend hundred on "very good" brand... some spend hundred on wrong setup...

My idea is HU still need to change, just change it first and see how it goes from there.

thanks for the feedback.. so can recommend me a mid or entry level nice HU alpine or pioneer..
*
Your situation is a bit odd.

Changing your HU will definitely improve a lot, would suggest Pioneer P80PRS. It is entry level HU also.... for some lar. laugh.gif

But do mind about your amp too, cannot go too loud. Won't the 2000w spoil your Morel ah?

Only if I am given a 2000w amp, I wonder what I will do...hmmm.

my swift gx model.. already with single din bro.. no need panel2 one..  rclxms.gif
eh 2000w is not real la i think.. just slap there for "wow wee" factor..
dont write like that la bro, i'm not ice expert, newbie and very lazy to read one..  sweat.gif

teh model is "black tarantula ax4.60t 4 channel mosfet high power amplifier 2000watts"..
i see 60t maybe 60w x 4.. any guide on is it suitable or not?  icon_question.gif

thank you again for your reply..
*
2000w, for me I am just assuming it is 2k RMS...

I think DMX should be roughly there if running 2ohm.

Anyway, that's not the point lar...

NOX, 1.3k is expensive? Then what is your budget?

already stated bro, 600-800..

but if u suggest 1.3k HU.. the quality should be up to the price paid for.. need to start save..
*
Actually the 1.3K one is not local set, local is more expensive and buy with confidence.

I'm suggesting the HU because I see from your setup, it is like rojak in terms of level.
You have stock HU, then Morel speakers, then got ayam also.

You can try the Pioneer 1XXXX ~ 9XXXX series HU if you just want to stick to your budget.
Please don't ask, is 8xxx better than 6xxx? All this series of HU are mainly different in features, sound wise very hard to differentiate. But definitely an improvement from your stock also lah...

If you're not fussy about ICE and don't plan on upgrading to psychotic levels like Krayden, then any Alpine, Clarion, Kenwood or Pioneer that's within your budget range will be good enough. Go to a reputable accessory shop like EA Autoworks, CV Audio, etc and tell them your budget. They'll recommend based on what they have and installation usually is in their price.

Unless you plan on DIY-ing, there's no point listening to these master anaconda poisoners like Mywifecar, Quazacolt and all. Cuz once you kena poison, there's no turning back.........
*
Why call me anaconda? I pity his Morel ler...

I wanted to ask him to change to a true 4x75 also, but don't want lar... later kena named as Godzilla pulak ... laugh.gif
