Hi Sifu,

Any recommendations for the head unit ? My friend recommended me to use the nakamichi na2750 or na2650. However, I found the na2750 respond is quite slow. So which nakamichi product should I go for ? or have better suggestions ?

- My ride: Altis 2008
- File format/medium used for my source: mp4(video) and mp3(song) via usb
- Budget: less than RM 1200

- My ride: Subaru XV 2015
- Prefers SQ/SPL/SQL: SQL
- File format/medium used for my source: Carplay stream from Tidal or Spotify
- Music genre: Pop, maybe some EDM
- Budget: Around 2k - 3k?
- Setup type preferences: Replacement for stock front and rear speaker/tweeter
- Other requirements (if any):
- Current setup: Pioneer AVH-Z5250BT, all stock speaker, and 1 burnt speaker at rear  bye.gif
- Front speaker 2-way or 3-way component system is better? No idea how to mount a 3-way system.  hmm.gif
- Currently looking at focal speakers, but not sure which model to choose.
- Should i change rear speaker? Big difference? or just remain as stock?
- Will add a sub in the future for better bass.

Based exp in this field 1997 - 2007.. not worth to invest in audio system especialy nowdays not many people willing to spend even on branded 2nd unit.. my 2 cents advice.. spend on soundproofing is OK.. If really want to upgrade look for OEM replacement like Top Palace speaker is cheaper & not power hungry can drive with 8ch/10ch DSP Class D amplifier.. This DSP Class D amplifier can be use back to your new car after you sold current car..

Hi All Sifus,

First time into ICE, need some advice whether my budget sufficient for the intended setup, if not, what are the alternative replacements to lower the cost and yet retain the sound quality.

Budget: RM10K-12K (Audio equipment plus installation), RM3K-4K (Soundproofing entire car)

My ride: Perodua Aruz AV
Preference: SQ (reference - love the kind of sound from my british home speaker EPOS ES14 - very sweet and clear mid tone - clean and crisp high)
File format: Flac, mp3, usb etc
Music Genre: Jazz, Pop, New Age
Intended Setup: 3-way active front and 2-way passive rear

HU: Retain Original Stock
DSP+AMP: Audison Prima Series AP8.9 Bit 8 Channel Amplifier with built-in DSP
SPEAKERS: Morel Virtus 603 (3-way active front) + Virtus 602 (2-way passive rear)

Kind of firmed on the Morel speakers but not sure on the DSP and amps. Need some advice from the experts here whether able to lower the cost by 2-3K so that my wife wont make noise.

Many thanks in advance!!!

As I know Audison amp on warm side & didn't match with Morel.. you should pair it with Focal speaker..

Thanks, as I prefer the Morel speakers, I would rather find the amp that matches the speakers. Which DSP amp do you think will match the Morel? How about Helix V8?
*
Helix V8, Top Palace, Audio Control D6.1200 & etc.. avoid Italy brands like Sinfoni, Mosconi, Audison, Audio System, Steg, Celestra & etc coz most of them towards warm side..

Sifu Oldskolboyz,

How will the following combi compare in terms of price and performance?

1.  Helix V8 DSP Amp + Morel Virtus 603 + Morel Maximo 2-way

2.  Hertz H8 DSP + Morel MPS 4.400 x 2 + Morel Virtus 603 + Morel Maximo 2-way

3.  Zapco DSP-Z8 + Morel MPS 4.400 x 2 + Morel Virtus 603 + Morel Maximo 2-way

I was thinking whether it will be better to use back Morel amp to drive their speakers. Getting my car soon, wanted to pin down the combi so that I can get the accessories shop to quote.

Get your car 1st and draw you plan where to put those equipment.. Your plan going front 3 way active & your driver is pwr hungger one.. tweet itself need atleast 100wrms to draw full potential.. forget no 1 coz pwr not enough.

- My ride: Honda City '14 V spec with touchscreen HU
- Prefers SQ/SPL/SQL: SQL
- File format/medium used for my source: Mostly from Bluetooth 5.0 Spotify with HQ, occasionally youtube mp4 from Pendrive.
- Music genre: mainly trance, pop, r&b
- Budget: rm800 will top up if highly recommended
- Setup type preferences: no idea, active i guess?
- Other requirements (if any): prefer using back my Honda HU, the original speaker in the front is an OK kick for me just needed a bit more, I don't mind small subwoofer in the trunk as long can be easily removed or turned off when needed. Plug n Play I meant.
*
Just take this one.. price as below but this price base on offer I received in July this year :-

1) RM890 for a set component speakers installed in the front doors
2) RM780 for a pair of co-axial speakers in stalled in the rear doors
3) RM1,500 for component speakers in the front doors and co-axial speakers in the rear doors.

ASC Malaysia statement:
All plug and play and sound quality 100% much better than original stock speakers. No wire cut at all. Sound is the best among other plug and play speakers in the market. Key advantage of the sound quality is the low frequency bass from the 6.5" is very good and dynamic. You may not need subwoofer anymore.
