Lane change assist in VW is something like blind spot monitoring system.

It's just like u touch the turn signal stalk and let go, the side signal lights will blink 3 times instead of once. Simple. Get it?

Err I can't find any video. normally when u wanna switch lane you will need to hold on the signal to let it blink a few times but this one you just tap it once and it will flash for 3 times. biggrin.gif

just now go test drive elantra 1.8 near autocity branch. First impression is kind of underpower for low rpm. After 4000 rpmfeel the force kick in but is nothing to shout of. For initial pick up, when flooring the petal, the engine noise and the acceleration does not seems to be in proportion. Lol... Playing with petal swift, the gear changing smoothness and response is marginally acceptable. Nappa leather looks classy with dash board design. Missing auto lock after car start up is puzzling. Might pose a treat to honda civic, but still lose to forte for dollar and sens wise.

Dear all,
I really appreciate that you all read my blog. Thanks very, very much.

But I'm not SA. I am car blogger as my profession is as per described in theMalaysia Motoring News ABOUT section of my blog.

The SA you mentioned is the Hyundai SA that helped me getting to test these cars. For complimenting his assistance, his contact detail is published in the articles. Its a win-win situation for both. I get to test the car, I get the material to do what I love, i.e writing automotive articles, and the salesman get his exposure.

If you noticed, I always promoted certain salesman in my blog. For Hyundai, it goes to his guy, for Proton -it goes to Proton Glenmarie salesman, if Perodua, it goes to this Selayang SA, if its Rolls-Royce- it goes to....

Hope this clarifies the situation and clear up the accusation.

Cheers

Finally managed to test drive the car in glenmarie today. Tested the 1.6 n 1.8 version.

To be honest, i was hoping for alot especially with all the hype this car has gotten. I got in the 1.6 version first. Interior qquality was ok. But i cant understand why the doors were still using hard plastic at this level.

Steering felt light at high speeds.not good at all. Power at lowrpm was ok, but the moment u floor the pedal, rpm goes up to 6k but hardly any power felt.

Verdict: very underpower

Then it was the 1.8 version. Got in, nice touchscreen greeted me b
Although a bit laggy. Was expecting more power. But unfortunately power was more or less the same as 1.6 version. Hardly any power at high rpms.noisy engine .

Verdict: underpowered and overpriced.

No doubt the designof exterior n interior is good. But the materials they use are of cheap quality . Cheapo leather seats. Rear seats super cramp as car has very low roofline.

Overall verdict: i cant understand who will buy this car . Its a good try by hyundai but doesnt even come close to toyota altis in terms of refinement. Even my previous honda city 1.5 had more power.

I can't agree on the part that the interior loses out to altis. i have been in an altis where the squarish hard plastic panel has flashes left over from the moulding process. and I thought this kind of issue only happens to perodua.

btw I'm already getting this car. not expecting u to understand though. tongue.gif
