1.8 windscreen is special. if it is not special, then it would be interchangeable. if it is different means it is different.
this time its expensive not because of sensor, but because of tint/UV rating.
Means the 1.6 are using lower grade of glasses and windscreen! wth??
and, no rain sensor in the world is screw or bolt onto the windscreen.

and conti car rain sensor and light sensor are usually together, check bmw and peugeot.
so, 1.8 buyer need to insure more on windscreen, thats it. not a dealbreaker, not a showstopper.
and, thank you for sharing this with us.
The tint rating is about the same as on the Sonata, and we only recommend a RM2,000 windscreen insurance but the cost is probably for the sunroof rather than the windscreen. It's not like a RM6,000 windscreen. My company does insurance claim for broken windscreen as well. RM2,000 is sufficient on the Sonata.
The 1.6 is using the same glass, minus the tinted element, but if you see it that way, that adds more reason to pay RM15,000 more for the 1.8, as many has did.
Regarding the rain sensor, I am just clearing some claims that it's hard mounted onto the mirror and replacement of windscreen might include replacing the sensors.
And I've tried the system, and no the auto light system is not integrated with the rain sensors.
