We tested the 1.6 first. The first impression was the steering was a bit heavy to my liking. Rear view was quite limited. Feels like the back of a Gen2. As we enter into the main roads, i floored the car. To my surprise the pickup was sluggish. I still prefer the Altis responsiveness of the pedal. In fact in an Altis, if you floor the pedal too much, the car's pickup is so strong that you get push back to the seat. I dont get this feeling in the Elantra.

Strange but somehow i felt that 1.6 power quite ok but 1.8 quite dissapointing. Maybe this weekend will go test drive to be certain...

I think in US, the car has the eco button, where you can turn off the eco mode and changes the settings.

Seems like our version, eco mode is always on, and off it when you accelerates. I think the engine settings is different

Oh, definitely will try and get a test drive soon. But to be honest, the interior of both cars seems a little letdown compared to the pics I've seen on the net. Trim levels do play a big role... Or maybe it's the professional photographers' lighting lol...

Nope. They took tat feature out along with the extendable sun visor. Instead they add in rain sensor wiper which I think useless to me

  they are replacing useless features by taking out necessary features

Elantra is not the first model facing such problem. Look at K5, Sportage and Sorento compared to their cousins.

I thought that we all confirmed dy. the only surprise is the color of seat for 1.6 variant...
And also confirmed from showrooms, they removed extendable sun visor and chromatic mirror, but give auto rain and light sensor for wiper and light.
