There are some common ways:
1) Ensure that your device is near the router if possible. Peripherals like television and hand phones emit microwaves which can interrupt the WiFi signal strength between the router and the device.
2) Reduce your router's beacon through default gateway. This allows a better reception since your router would only send signals within a shorter range.
3) You can make your own WiFi booster as shown below. Its found to be effective. Or you can replace the antenna of your router with a higher quality one.

4) Update your router/ device network firmware(network card, etc...)

just to verify.
1. television are you refer to LCD or CRT (Cathode Ray Tube). as i knew CRT seriously generates lots of EMF & heat. well for deck phone are you refer to 2.4GHz type. how about the motorola deck?

4. not all firmware is compatible. like tplink 1043ND. the latest may not work with unifi. slightly older does work.

I was generally referring to both, the CRT generates more compared to the LCD. The DECT one? Yep, since its also wireless.

Not all may benefit from this, but its worth a try though.

High rise uses vdsl which is copper for unifi. With such low speed offerings you won't feel any quality difference except some minor increase in ping.

Yes I am using Astro B.yond. I must say the channel quality im comparison to Astro and Hypptv, Hypptv wins hands down. Im referring to TV1, TV2, TV3

There was only one generation of SD receivers that had the component out..and that was the best IMHO..
I believe byond box purposely degrades SD channels so you would subscribe to HD.

Hi all,

I have some questions about setting up UNIFI in my new Condo soon.

I will be moving to my condo soon BUT the problem here is that the phoneline port is NOT at the place where I intend to put my TV there.

My questions:

1. In this case, I will need to lay a cable to extend from the original phone line port to the TV area. Any special cable or termination need to be care of? Not sure my contractor know how to extend or not. They may say OK, no problem to lay an extention cable BUT not sure it will be 100% workable or not. If later the Unifi technician came to setup and found out the extention cable not suitable as according to their setup, then it will be troublesome again to lay another cable after the renovation. Any advice or this?

2. I understand that the telephone MUST connect to the Unifi router. Can I connect another telephone to any other additional router or whatever device in another room?

3. Is it good to use HomePlug to extend the Internet connection to another room?

Looking forward to all your replies.

Thanks.

Outdoor HD is not part of the RM30 package. You have been watching 30 days free preview.
