Thanks for your reply.  smile.gif

Checked with TP-Link support earlier today and they mentioned that the latest firmware in the Malaysian website, i.e. "TL-WR1043ND_V1_120210" supports UniFi. Hence, I skipped 110906 and went straight for 120210. Looks like I have been misinformed!

Is it possible for me to downgrade the firmware to 110906?
*
Hehe I tried the latest firmware before contacting CS. And no unifi mode =/
When asked CS, they told me it's not for unifi. So not every CS has the correct info!

To downgrade, simply restore to facrtory, and do the same as upgrade! tongue.gif

Hi, I hv just replaced by Streamyx with Unifi. Everything seems in order except for my VPN access to my company (via a Remote Access software and a Digitalbadge dongle).

With Unifi, my access to the Authentication Server (e.g., in Singapore, USA) always gets timeout. I did not have this problem when using Streamyx.

Is there anything we can "tune" in the Unifi setup?

Thx in advance for your help. smile.gif

Can anyone suggest me a good and cheap repeater?

Or can TPLink W8961ND act as repeater?

Try to find WDS in Wireless Settings. Normally TP-Link got WDS function built in. Try and error from there laugh.gif

DIR-615 doesn't need to support WDS ya? Only 8961ND is enough is it?

when there is a flux in tx and rx between ure desktop and router.
seems to me always linked to a preamble issue.

how far is the desktop??
*
It's about 20m.
Desktop at down stair and router at up stair.
Wireless Signal Strength : very good
I'm using DIR-615 given by TM.
I'm using this desktop for abt 2 month and don't have any speed connecting issue before.

dont belive in the signal bars..
ure running lower

example tp link 1043nd to my computer room tp link shows 76 percent 108mpbs tx from router with rx of 300mpbs from my adapter...

no prob 20 up and down.

dlink 615... 100%... 300 mbps tx and rx only 14mpbs download with 15mbps upload..

u have to be very near the bars dont show the proper dbm
in tp link u will see whats the dbm in their specssheet at what speed range.

couldnt find the spec sheet for dlink.

Hi, did my post get deleted last night?

I walked to a Maxis outlet just now and to my horror, this sweet deal (RM118) ended on the 28th and not at the end of the month.

I don't understand why a promotion ends on a random day. It's usually on the last day of the month.

TM better come up with a counter offer.
<RM150 for 10mbps!

1) Any rumors so far of a counter offer?
My steamyx contract will end in September.
Need to make a decision in August/September.

2) What are the common problems with Unifi?

I haven't had any problems with my humble Streamyx for the past 2 years! So happy with it but my RM88 promotion will end in September so I want to either upgrade to Unifi or Maxis.

I read that Maxis has problems with it's router.

3) For 5mb which I believe is VIP5, what are the speeds to overseas servers?

Thanks!

you apply via online??? if not there, go to tmpoint, ask them. they will investigate the matter. Like me, first i check online, my home address is not there as they use their old system address i think. even the distribution pole just in front of my house. I go to tmpoint and submit my application and give some information about my house and the condition to akak kaunter...

later they call me and said unifi is not support to my house(inside my heart I said, what the heck... argh.. cry.gif vmad.gif ). Suddenly next day, i receive a call from tm, and said i can install unifi. hmm.gif wonder what happen in short of period(i dont submit any complaint or what so ever...). So give all my info and make appointment and now already 1 year 2 month with unifi without any major break/problem(except once the cable broken at dp due to vibration of the cable, maybe the cable weak due to splicing)..

so the important think you must to expect, is it at your place got the distribution point or not. Check it at the pole and at the ground. Make sure it close to your house....

It's happen to have slow connection speed again for this desktop only.
Look like the most reliable connection is using LAN.

Yep..at first it was set at 1480 by the router auto detect. I change it to 1492. I pinged 1474 and i get those result.
Before that i change my dns to open dns.could that be the cause?

Does this happen frequently (low speeds to overseas servers)?

I'm on Streamyx 4mb and I get between 500kb-1mb to San Francisco (Singtel).
