Last night first time since I subscribed to Unifi, there was no internet connection. Happened after 12am, but when I woke up this morning, it was OK. Kepong area.

Anyways, my 30-day trial of HyppTV packages over... I think the best channels are the SyfyHD, CrimeHD, WarnerTV, etc.

i think u will need to pay the penalty if still in contract , but i'm not sure,

If I remember the T&C on their website correctly, the penalty is applied if you move to UNIFI-available area and you choose to not continue with your UNIFI contract. If the area has no UNIFI, then I believe the penalty is waived. However, I don't know whether they can make you sign up for a streamyx package for the duration of the contract. There are similar terms in the Maxis FTTH T&C.

My fren ask tm before, no unifi coverage will ask you to use streamyx.

That would make sense. After all, you did sign a 24-month contract, and if they can't provide UNIFI, they can certainly provide Streamyx.

Except, in my case, I asked to upgrade to Streamyx 4MB through the Super Speed Me promotion, as was told that there's no more 4MB (or 2MB port) in Ampang. Must go Unifi. Go figure.

Has anyone experienced something like this before?

* Your friend/family member streams YouTube/downloads a file (even if limited to 50% of your maximum bandwidth)
* Your ping in game spikes to 99999999

Mine happens when my brother streams YouTube or sister downloads some files. My ping in Battlefield will spike from 20 to 500~1000 while in Diablo 3 my ping spikes from 250~350 to 700~infinity.

So, they'll downgrade my UNIFI to SCREAMYX 1st? Then, after they got extra ports, they'll able to upgrade it to UNIFI again without adding extra charges?

The thing I am confuse here is their agent called me said that,
I should go to TM Point to dismiss my Unifi and apply the Screamyx. I am not sure will there be charges or not...(for cutting the Unifi and register the SCREAMYX)

Nah, thats just " tersedak " sometimes occur, tho lately happened quite a lot, due to maintenance i guess..

Fiber can support a large bandwidth, and latency of a speed of light.. so latency will likely to be independent from user throttling the DL.. Well, correct me if im wrong.

Just for thought for those who didn't know, fiber can support up to more than 1gbps, ( internet + intranet, you'll get the idea ).. http://www.vassetidatatech.com/1280/gigaspeednow.html < offering 1gbps intranet.

I have to stop torrenting when my son play his online game as has game get dc often but it happen only on certain game servers especially the popular one.

a.) Cut, cost RM 0 and got Screamyx.
b.) Cut, cost RM 500 and got Screamyx.
c.) Cut, cost RM 0 or RM 500 and got nothing(I like this one, so, I can get my Maxis 10mbps Internet).
