If I remember the T&C on their website correctly, the penalty is applied if you move to UNIFI-available area and you choose to not continue with your UNIFI contract. If the area has no UNIFI, then I believe the penalty is waived. However, I don't know whether they can make you sign up for a streamyx package for the duration of the contract. There are similar terms in the Maxis FTTH T&C.

That would make sense. After all, you did sign a 24-month contract, and if they can't provide UNIFI, they can certainly provide Streamyx.

Except, in my case, I asked to upgrade to Streamyx 4MB through the Super Speed Me promotion, as was told that there's no more 4MB (or 2MB port) in Ampang. Must go Unifi. Go figure.
