lesson learnt: don't put your hopes too high. you'll be easily disappointed.

if you have 10k in your ASW2020, a 0.1% difference is just RM 10. smile.gif

Kind of frustrated with the returns.. blush.gif

I was expecting a return of about 6.8% at least; using ASM as the benchmark..

I think AS1M might be about 6.8%.. Should not be 7% based on my projection..

Haiz... Anyway, still better after considering the economy which is a bit not so encouraging... nod.gif

for any cash transactions more than 50k, you will need to fill up a form to declare that the income source and purpose of deposits

it's just a formality. i filled once and left the date & amount section blank and let the banks photocopy as many as they want. i put down my work as "office / errand boy"  laugh.gif

Oh my gosh; this is something so new to me...

It could really put us in trouble without knowing that a form has to be filled..

Thanks a lot for this precious info.. notworthy.gif

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 26 (Bernama) -- Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB), Monday announced 6.70 sen dividend for per unit Amanah Saham Wawasan 2020 (ASW 2020) for the financial year ending Aug 31, 2013.

In announcing the dividend, the highest in five years, PNB Chairman Tun Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid said the dividend was an increase of 0.10 sen a unit from the dividend declared last year.

"Throughout the financial year ending Aug 31, 2013, the ASW Fun managed to achieve the investment objective although the share market and the world economy were shrouded in uncertainty as a result of the protracted debt crisis in Europe and the change in the United States' economic policy and the sluggish regional economy," he told reporters when announcing the dividend.

Ahmad Sarji said RM1.062 billion will be paid to 899,967 unitholders, a 9.2 per cent increase from the payment made last year totalling RM973.16 million.

The unitholders jointly hold 15.8 billion ASW 2020 units, he added.

Also present was PNB President and Group Chief Executive Tan Sri Hamad Kama Piah Che Othman.

Ahmad Sarji said the 6.70 sen dividend was reasonable when compared to other compatible investment instruments particularly given the economic scenario which is still at recovery process.
He said that up to yesterday, the ASW 2020 fund received an estimated income of RM1.28 billion, the profit from the sale of ASW units to companies, which contributed RM624.46 million or 48.8 per cent to the estimated income.

While the dividend income from investments in companies raked in RM421.18 million or 32.9 per cent to the estimated income and the additional income of RM234.05 million was received from investments in short-term instruments and other sources of income, he said.

He said the ASW 2020 dividend payment will be made by re-investment which will be credited to the unitholders' investment account on Sept 1.

All ASW 2020 transactions have been deferred since yesterday until Sept 1 to facilitate dividend calculation, he said.

Unitholders can update their investment books at the PNB headquarters, branch offices or ASNB agents nationwide from Sept 2 onwards.

For unitholders, who bought ASW 2020 units from EPF Member Investment Scheme, the dividend payment will be credited into their EPF Investment account.

Meanwhile, Hamad Kama Piah said PNB has the capacity to pay nine sen dividend per unit but the balance two sen has been brought forward.

"As usual, PNB, as a prudent investment house manager wanting to see consistency in terms of returns every year, the extra two sen we have to reserve and we hope this move will help to manage this fund so that the returns in the years ahead are not affected.

"The two sen reserve totalled more than RM300 million and this is PNB's long-term investment strategy for ASW 2020," he added.
