KUALA LUMPUR: Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB), has announced a 6.50 sen dividend per unit for Amanah Saham Malaysia (ASM) for the financial year ending March 31, 2012.

The income distribution was higher than the 6.38 sen per unit paid last year, PNB chairman Tun Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid said yesterday.
He said the income distribution would involve a total payout of RM820.24 million, an increase of 8.6 percent compared to the RM755.05 million paid out last year.

“The payment will benefit 546,341 unit holders who currently hold 12.62 billion units of ASM,” he told a press conference here yesterday.
Up until March 21, ASM has recorded a gross income of RM978.32 million.

Dividend income from investment in companies contributed RM774.77 million or 79.2 of the gross income.
Profit from the sale of shares contributed RM53.59 million or 5.5 percent, and the remaining income of RM149.96 million or 15.3 percent was derived from investments in short term instruments.
The income distribution will be reinvested in additional units and will be automatically credited into the unitholders’ account on April 1, 2012.

Commenting on the performance of ASM, PNB President/Group Chief Executive Tan Sri Hamad Kama Piah Che Othman said they had the capacity to pay 8.0 sen but “we decided on the current income distributions due to unfavourable environments”. He said PNB would continue to ensure that its strategy in stock selection give competitive annual returns for the long term.


MY Comment: as expected 6.5sen, already know since last year after AS1M announcement. ASD,ASW2020 & AS1M all is 6.5sen per unit dividend so it naturally for ASM to get 6.5sen also.

Someone in ASNB office told me that Indian Quota sold out in 3rd week of March 2012. Bumi quota still a lot available and can be bought at anytime office hours. That's all for now. If got any new information will post it.

ASD 2012 dividend rate is 6.6 sen.
Based on year 2010 & 2011 trend, ASW2020 & AS1M dividend payout most likely be around 6.6sen

No more using amanah saham method to raised money, maybe using IPO method (Felda global, IHH public offering) that's why this year got so many gov company public offering on bursa malaysia.

ASW 2020, waiting for the dividend

Don't think as1m dividend will exceed asw2020 dividend. if you look closely, the benchmark for asw, as1m & asm is asd. if asd 6.6 then asw & as1m also 6.6. asm will follow the next year. this trend have been since 2009.

Sold out long-long time ago. Even want to top up also cannot. Maybe if got inside "cable @ connection" got some chance buying lar.

Don't waste your time trying to top up. lot of people are doing the same thing. Even anyone sell the unit, within seconds someone already take the unit just like that. One more thing, if non-bumi sells the unit the agent cannot see the available unit, if bumi sells the unit agent can see the available unit (told by maybank staff). I don't know about the asnb office if you could see the available units.

ASNB increase the fund size for reinvestment (dividend) purpose, NOT for sale. If asnb increase fund size for sale then how to sell the bumi portion (asw2020 and as1m). Only the non-bumi portion will sold out first. as1m bumi portion still available until now even after 3 years open. ASW2020 bumi portion also took long time to fill and now wanna open more. Do you think asnb want to take that risk?

Who knows maybe 20% dividend, anything can happen in malaysia. even pig can fly

back to your question, all can i say that no new amanah saham for sale this year. don't ask why. it's just like that. currently position. If you really2 desperate, go meet PM Najib at his office and ask personally to him to open up amanah saham

Since buying amanah saham, this is the first time I'm hearing the staff do the transaction first & print the slip even before you actually fill the slip. Anyway very lucky you got to top up amanah saham.

Very-very lucky you manage to topup 2.5k into ASM, Others try most times and always unsuccessful.

Manage to top-up today. Just small amount available, that also after went for 2nd time today (staff key in my particulars 2 times before success). The staff need to long in 2 times because asnb system lock my transaction (automatic log out).

Some people already started the buying spree since mid November (even before you post here)

it's depend on your luck. Sometime morning no units, evening got units. Sometimes asm no units, as1m got units (if you very2 lucky can get asw 2020 also).

almost everyone that i know having amanah saham passbook using this tactic to add some units
