Perhaps they want to push and market the Lumia's, as it's their core and primary OS, they need it to be successful.

PureView even if they don't market, it will still sell? Symbian owners waiting to upgrade their Symbian device will be waiting for the 808 PureView, especially since there's no other high end good Symbian available for quite some time already? Imagine how many are there, these people don't need marketing campaign to know about the 808 PureView, plus the previous news and award already promoted the PureView so much.

Secondly, even non-Nokia owners, those which given up with Nokia and moved on, or those who never like Nokia, the 808 PureView already captured their attention, without Nokia need to do any marketing campaign.

Not really, from the response I get, although it's Symbian, they're relief it's not Windows Phone. Of course, they would prefer Androids, and most of these Android owners want flexibility and customization, they just can't bear the limitations and restrictions on Windows Phone.

There're those which can, but the question is, how many. Very little, people choose Androids because of the flexibility, customization, freedom. It's they don't mind the restrictions and limitations, they might/would've gone for the iPhone, which is similar like Windows Phone. Then again, iPhone have jailbreak.

Such discussion about Nokia vs others will always be there. But pureview has just fulfill the holy grail of smart phone device, which is the powerful camera equipment.

No more and no less.

Its a device that fits the niche market of photographer, either amateur or pro, that allow them to have one handy device and capture images on the spur of the moment. With good images to boost.

For me, this device has solved my digital camera and camcorder problem. All in sub 2K price tag I hope.

how do you define something as expensive? because quad core means more expensive? because android more expensive? So how can a technology that is common and shared by many manufacuturer with massive quantity consider expensive?

Same logic when ppl buy a DSLR for 2K u dont hear they said expensive even its huge, dedicated camera only but buying a phone with amazing camera is expensive?

1.First you are paying premium grade lens of carl zeiss optics that only on mobile phone nokia have
http://lenses.zeiss.com/photo/en_DE/home.html

2. Its the only phone in the world with pureview technology

3. Its the first phone in the world with biggest sensor of F1/1.2

4. Its the first phone in the world with 41 Megapixels

5. Nokia at today only mobile phone manufacturer with partnership with lens makers aka carl zeiss

Its one of a kind technology in a phone you consider expensive? If the market got alot phone with 34MP, 36MP, 39MP or maybe 43MP then maybe its expensive but the highest 16MP and its not out on a phone so how do you define expensive? Even after launch of Nokia 808 pureview it still do not have any competition yet.

The joke is even my HTC One X camera is shit so does it consider expensive if it doesnt meet my expectation?

Today people mindset kena brainwash very badly common = expensive =.=" unique = cheap hahahaha

most likely it will be released here sometime this month since they already distribute the brochure and has the dummy phones in their stores.

I can't wait to trade in my HTC one X for it since i already sold my proper m43 camera. all i need now is a decent camera/video recorder that i will carry around anywhere i go. i have moved on from DLSR and M43 camera days since i'm too lazy to carry big and heavy device.

if you consider the price of a average smartphone, add to a average PnS camera, 808 will come out cheaper. Of course if you don't need the super camera on the 808, you won't find it worthwhile.

i hope so, need to replace my n8.... camera besar2 nie payah nk bwk, n kdg2 slalu lupe bwk maser tgh sibuk2. lgpun, snng utk org yg bekerje mcm saye, sbb snng nk amik sample products/defects/kesalahan2 ethics nie. The price is consider to be good, too cheap and it won't feel special, too expensive we might choose other product.

i hope nokia is really2 ready la ngn product nie, dgn saingan samsung S3 and iphone5 nie, harap2 nokia don't died to early la...we still need the updates hahahaha whistling.gif

Worth issue is hard to judge. Sometimes you may see people say a product that is complicated, requires many skilled expertise to design, build, technology, etc. as expensive and not worth the money, but they can say a simple, easy to make, price few thousands, they claim as worth it (not to mention the cost to produce is sooo sooo sooo much lower, it's all because of the BRAND, which they don't even really know who the hell is it but because people "say" it's BRANDED and FAMOUS).
A similar category product, that comes with protection, weather sealing, water proof, security, damage protection, anti-theft feature, etc, all the expensive material and features, which still cost few times cheaper than the said product, they can say it's expensive and not worth it.

So, how does one judge as worth or not worth? For most people, it's simply not valid, it's more like depending on the person, if the person LIKE the product soooo much, suddenly, it will become worth it. So, just let these people be, you can't satisfy and make everyone understand.

I think that's sarcasm, aspire2oo6

It still expensive IMO if its priced close to RM2k, although the camera appeals to some you can buy decent prosumer camera (like Canon Powershot S100) which priced similar or cheaper plus optical zoom to boot. I don't say it's not appeal to me, it's just I don't want to pay such price for a phone that's good for one thing.

If it using Android I might pay for that price, heck I'm willing to trade in my current Droid Razr for it, but since I have tried Belle on N8, I won't pay that much for similar experience, even with upgraded camera. Just my IMO.
