I think i will sell my gf2 and buy this phone instead. My gf2 rarely get out of my drawer and I'm too lazy to carry it around. It's time for me to go back to basic.

What sold me over is high quality audio without distortion when recording live music. I love recording video in concert.

Stop this Android vs Nokia nonsense la. I used to have both. I'm going to have both. And I like both. End of story!
*
Indeed.

I plan to buy this phone as second phone and also replacement to dedicated camera. Too lazy to carry around even micro 4rd camera.

My main phone will still be android and my tablet is ios.

I'm not a fan boy of any products. I know what I want and need.

HTC one X released....looks nice in term of camera function... i wait for 808 release and see this 2 monster fight in low light... fps and noise control...

and accuracy in WB, auto mode...
*
it's no match, the sensor is much bigger in 808 and the optics also better.
808 can be compared with mid to high end digital camera.

the sensor in 808 is just slightly smaller than the one in nikon v(j?) series

comparing One X with 808?!  shocking.gif
Well don't intent to sound harsh, but I think 808 is on another league though

In overall user experience, One X might offer the best package as a standalone device, but in terms of imaging quality, I think 808 still one the lead (nope, i'm not a Nokia fan that blindly worshiping my favourite brand  rolleyes.gif )
*
i have stopped using nokia since 5800XM and i agree with you.

and i am contemplating to sell my pana GF2 and buy 808 since i hardly take my gf2 anywhere i go except for when i go for holiday. otherwise it's stored in my drawer.

perhaps i'm just too lazy to lug around heavy camera.

Actually, majority does not. Its just you are in a community of smartphone savvy people.

I work in a bank, and only around 50% of the people in the IT department actually use smartphones with apps and such. And much less amount of people cares about that in other departments. I would say only 10% in non-IT departments.
*
in my office i can confirm 99% use smartphones.

highly flexible so a lot of incompatabiliy, unstable n tons of viruses issues which is very annoying.many android users forced to deal with it.stable is ms,apple and even nokia trying to deliver.ms will slowly ditch the limitation in the future but they wouldnt compromise with those issues as stated above.just my 2 cents
*
incompatibility issues do exists in android since different manufacturers using different hardware setup but virus issues i'm not aware of it. I have jumped ship to android since 3 years ago and i've never encountered a virus on mine.

I hope the price for pureview is less than rm2k, it's hard for them to sell the phone above 2k since high end android phone also selling slightly above2k.

I already sold my gf2 and will replace the camera with the phone if the price is right.

i already have 2 android phones so it's pureview for me and let go my htc one x, keep my galaxy nexus since i don't think it can be traded in with high price.

wow that much, it means i can gain money since i bought maxis set only cost me RM1000 tongue.gif

but i haven't sell it yet. currently i have no proper camera to snap pics for my holiday next week even though i think camera on my gnex is as good as one x during daylight but for indoor or at night one x is better.

i guess i need to sell it once i get back from holiday.

sgs3 fail to impress majority of audience that expect much from it..including me :/

design-wise, i think Gnex is better. the physical button ruined it.

Yea looks like iphone 3G or those old windows mobile phone. I am happy with my HTC One X but the camera godlike sux
*
yes one x camera is nothing to shout about but i think it has potential when HTC update the camera apps. the hardware itself got potential to be better, but of course it cannot be better than pureview 808.

but i have to give credit to its superiority in taking photo and video in low light condition compared to other android devices.

Most of the phones with the Exmor sensor does take good photos in low light. The camera is indeed super fast and love the feature of taking photos while recording but all the photos came out very bad quality. When you enlarge its blur
*
blur or noticeable noise when enlarge or view in actual size also happened in DSLR or m43 cameras. i used to own DLSR and m43 camera, if you view pictures in actual size(pixel peeping), no camera will satisfy you except perhaps full frame DSLR?

Wahahaha, yea. If not wrong, the idea from our group then he saw and he also do and ask his partner to take,  tongue.gif
Yup, plus, it even captures attention from those that already given up and move on from Nokia. They're willing to come back for this, even it's not running Android or iOS.

Imagine if Nokia have similar devices for different platform, today S3 and One X may not be able to hold such big sales. It's all thanks to Nokia, as many people switch from their Symbian devices over to Android already. If Nokia have Android device, they could've keep many of their customers including gaining new ones.
*
i'm the one that will buy this phone simply for camera/video, i have moved on from symbian years ago.

that because there not much competition in the market but now there alot of competition things is different now
*
you're right, with samsung s3 RRP is only RM2199. i think the right retail price for 808 is RM1899 in order to compete.
if you bought outside of nokia store i think you can shave off like RM100-RM200? or maybe more?

mmg confident giler diorg ngn pureview 808 nie  sweat.gif
*
most likely it will be released here sometime this month since they already distribute the brochure and has the dummy phones in their stores.

I can't wait to trade in my HTC one X for it since i already sold my proper m43 camera. all i need now is a decent camera/video recorder that i will carry around anywhere i go. i have moved on from DLSR and M43 camera days since i'm too lazy to carry big and heavy device.
