Find a car dealer which has a terminal seems like the most logical option  biggrin.gif

agree with tgeoklin. Most car dealers do accept credit cards for payment.. Toyota, Mazda, Honda and luxury cars but they may limit you up to a certain amount without any surcharge, so nego with them. However some Proton dealers do not accept credit card... so as go look for one, e.g. try Proton HQ Shah Alam. I remember for Perodua, at one time there were offering 0% installment for Nautica downpayment with Citibank CC.

Not sure what you mean by "extra charges" but AMEX charges 2.5% and MBB another 0.5% (not sure if they increased it this month). Read thread below:

https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1845691

To ALL:

In respect of overseas transactions, I noticed that my MBB VI overseas conversion rate for August (this month) is higher than previous months but I can tell you it is still lower than my UOB VI.

I not sure that day rate la but today rate is 0.0029 from google. If convert using today rate is 380.48.

Just a gap of 1 month or so i feel like not kena caj 0.5% from use credit kad hmm.gif

Wah you actually save money tongue.gif

Reason being is Ringgit has been weakening and weakening and weakening. Go check what was the conversion rate the day your transaction was posted (i.e. about a month ago).

I tried UOB and Citibank. Public bank wanna offer me card, but i was in the meeting that time, i terminated the call and they never call back.
1st time UOB appy thru bank near the Desa Park City branch. Required utility bills, but never informed me and the application expired?

2nd time, UOB agent say anything can contact her via email or sms. However, once i prepared the document, call and email never reply doh.gif

3rd time, Citibank. When i free to response. She send me late june. i reply in the mid of July, and she has resigned sweat.gif sweat.gif doh.gif

4th time, register online for OCBC. Let's see from there.

Really tired with all this hassle.

you can try apply Maybank CC as they can approve and make the card within 1 hour (max ~ 2hr) in Maybank Card Center at KLCC or 1U. The fastest way to get approve and swipe CC for this. biggrin.gif

i think this instance approval can apply for certain basic CC like Maybank 2 Amex, Petronas... only

I've already applied CIMB Islamic Credit Card Gold MasterCard. I noticed the annual fees is waived for life(principle). But what I don't understand is the Government Service Tax (RM50 for principle). Does it mean that it will charge RM50 Gov Serv tax for each transaction when I use the card?

And it didn't state % interest or credit limit which bothers me alot. If I use the card for RM2200 items, does it mean I have to return RM2200?

Hi, I would like to ask a question.

I have received the cards and I do not wish to activate it, will it get terminated automatically or do I still need to call them to cancel it?

Thank you.

I was shocked when I received 2 UOB CCs.

Cheers.

You better check whether you will be charged with GST for that terminated card or not. Also, if you are not happy with this, you can file a complaint. It is time for the bank to stop this practice. In future, make sure you cancelled out the other cards in the application form.

The Customer Care is helpful enough. She told me that I will receive a statement saying that I have cancelled one of the card and the GST will be waived on that statement. Thankfully.

Yeap, it's a lesson for me. I left the check boxes blank as I didn't need that card. But that is not the case. Probably she ticked one extra for me. How cunning.
