Hi guys,

I have decided to take the plunge and pick up the Scott Foil. As such I have to let go my beloved Scott S40 to make room for the new ride. Parts have been upgraded to almost S30 level. Bike itself is in pristine condition, like new. Some very slight scratches on the crank from dropped chain once, shifters perfect, frame is clean and polished.

If you guys have any friends who are keen to view, do let me know, perfect for beginners. SMS 0109811899 for viewing. See to believe. location Sg Besi, KL to arrange for viewing.

Upgraded so far:
NEW Tiagra 9 speed shifters,
NEW Tiagra Crankset,
New Hollowtech BB.
NEW Fizik Handlebar tape and NEW Fizik BAR GEL
More than Rm 3500 after all the upgrades.

Comes with owners manual, warranty etc. FOC: basic lights, basic pedals, bottle cage...ready to ride!

Thanks!

Wah Kindredd, upgrade loh, ini macam kita makan dia punya asap hahaha.
Scott foil is a good bike. All the best bro. Riding a good bike feels like you're on top of the world or in front of the peloton I should say walaupun you kat belakang.

foil is a separate line from CR1... foil is like venge and CR1 is tarmac sort of range...

there is a 2oz and 4oz... i think you saw the 4oz which is normally about RM48... i had the smaller bottle as that was the only one i could get that time and i think it was pretty close to RM30... not really worth it since the larger bottle is cheaper...

diesel... i don't know... but why risk storing combustible material at home and also risking your smooth skin brows.gif

i prefer to just spray the darn thing with RP7... chain degreaser is too expensive even though you just coat it with brush and it works it's magic...

never used diesel before, but have successfully used the following for chain cleaning:
- WD40
- Turpentine
- Degreaser

I guess diesel will kinda feel the same as turpentine, but at the moment, turpentine is last on my list cause it takes the longest time to dry

Thanks guys,

actually, i would not have bought the foil as my first bike in any case. I wanted a beginner bike to see if I could get back to cycling....and the speedster served its purpose to re-introduce me into the sport and letting me experience some group rides and fun rides.

I want the foil because it will easily bring me to the next level in performance, although at a significantly higher price tag...I expect to use at least RM 10k, once I fit it out.

so if you guys have any friends looking for a well cared for and awesome beginner bike, please do call me smile.gif

I tend to let it dry off first so I won't get turpentine mixing with my chain lube. And turpentine can take quite a while to dry. No idea exactly how long it'll take to dry, as I wash off the turpentine using dish washing detergent and rinse off with water. Water dries faster than turpentine.

maybe you should mention "commission" and it will get off your hands quicker...

did you give mudah a try... i think mudah would be easier as there are chances of beginners there as opposed to bbs which is full of seasoned people looking for good deals...

the response in mudah might be slower though...

don't turpentine leave stains on your chain... it's a solvent as far as i understand and not a true degreaser...

but since you've tried and tested it... it's worth giving a go since it's so much cheaper than anything else...

Kindredd,

Butthead has a point. BBS crowd are seasoned cyclists, really know the price and how to bargain basement one. Mudah crowd not so, so maybe u can get a beginner's there, no harm in trying. I sold a lot of stuff there as well, esp. gadgets, fast response, not so sure bout basikal though.

It doesn't quite degrease, but it dissolves the gunky lube that's left over on the chain, which is how it removes it. It does work, but I stopped using that as its quite a hassle. I tend to just use a degreaser from the hardware store these days. Less mess to deal with.

Don't think there's any specific brand to use.

I found this at Jusco. Got it for RM18. Should be cheaper at a hardware store.

this and those CRC degreaser is very expensive... RP7 is around RM12 at CF, if you get the one with 25% extra then the better... WD is more around your range...

CRC has both a industrial degreaser and a engine degreaser... i had the engine degreaser before (leftover from car stuff) and that worked wonders... problem being too expensive...
