PhoneWorx charge ALOT for service. I'll use my phone first until the dead pixels issue gets worse. now its not too bad as its spread out very widely.

well they charged me RM280 to replace the digitizer and glass screen, LCD should be about the same price. and their workmanship sucks

With the right tools and parts you can actually do the replacement on your own. I did changed my rokr e6 digitizer last time.

at first wanna change it tomorrow or day later.looks like have to suspend my plan

lol. the dead pixels got worse yesterday night but this morning all dissappeared

got my defy back from service center...they changed the whole lcd screen I was told that the light on the 4 buttons below come together with the LCD..

anybody here can confirm?

I have some scratches on my screen, anyone know a good place to fix it, the repair shop nearby said they don't have housing for defy.

see the white strip on the bottom of the screen? those are the buttons.

buy on eBay those complete with speaker and casing together for like RM100 and fix it yourself. SOOOOOO much cheaper and easier!

btw, earpiece from China just arrived! Will post more stuff once i get it installed

Damn hard to find this original earpiece for Defy. The Defy's earpiece differs with others that it have a waterproof membrane and the 3M double sided tape pre-sticked

Those they usually sell on eBay is not made for the Defy that it lacks those that i mention. If you find eBay, most of it looks like this and if you removed your earpiece before, you'll notice instantly that its totally different.



Took 3 weeks for the package to arrive. Just installed the earpiece and it works. now at 100% volume also won't crack the sound

The fact that they gave me 2 pieces instead of 1 might be an error though as the page clearly states 1 unit

So the solution is change the LCD not Touchscreen Glass right?

Added on March 23, 2012, 9:24 amto those of you who have dead pixel problem, i suggest change the lcd screen yourself..it is not difficult at all. all you need is a T5 torx screwdriver..no soldering, no adhesive required...guides are plenty on the net...

but replacing the digitiser is a little bit more difficult because it requires more tools (i.e. t5 screwdriver, heat gun, credit card/pry tool)...and there is a chance that you might break the front housing...but it is still DIYable..
