Bro,

Support and loyal to a brand is good, but I'm always prefer not to support blindly.
I do have many question when buying my new car. I'm do wondering around a few brand compare in the same segment.
In the end of the day I had choose Forte. YES, it is a damn korean car that most people think it is lousy.
To be frank with you, I had never regret for the price that I pay. Even most of my friend gave good response when they r in my car.

If you put brand a side you will see that the korean product really improved a lot.
If not it will not storm the world for these few years.

Just my 2 cents of opinion.. smile.gif

Honda's hard plastic dashboard is not as hard as korean/protons.

Its Honda, it must be better bro. You go try touch it, korean car's is harder.

Dont claim Korean after sales service is lousy just because u havent owned a Korean before. Dont merely vomit out words spoken by others without experiencing it yourself. Ive had both Korean and Jap makes in my household and although the Koreans are not on par with the Japs but they have improved by leaps and bounds while the Japs slept.

Bro, i owned a Toyota for 9 years and i still left and went to a Korean. Yes I may not get the same after sales service standard and resale value, but i get value for money and higher safety standards (in comparison to the Camry 2.0L). The Civic's pricing is still high for a C segment but yes it will still sell well. But at least Honda has started offering 5 year unlimited mileage warranties while Toyota is still stuck with its 3 yr terms.

U say 'good quality stuff seels well' eh? So i guess Proton is the best quality brand in the Malaysian automotive industry eh while Porsche must be a load of crap? Sale figures matter for foreign makes but not the local ones. Best u state this qualifying statement too.

But yes the Japs have created a brand loyalty which spanned a few decades of quality and durability. But if they dont buck up, they will find the Koreans overtaking them in a few years.

Those, i feel, are isolated cases. You can post website statistics here (i.e. how many like & 'hates' posts on new Toyota or Honda cars get on Paultan) but look the number of Jap on the road and you'll know how many people actually 'like' them.

Btw regarding your comment on my previous statement (i.e. 'good quality stuff seels well'), i did say that. But I did not say 'all stuff that sell well are of good quality'. Learn to understand a statement before commenting.

Yes I admit, Koreans are getting better and they are pressuring the Japs to provide better cars with better specs, but that doesn't mean they are always a better choice.

I would only believe SOHC > DOHC if honda made the next type-r in SOHC and yet more powerful than the legendary K20A type r.

Bro, sorry but i think its you who needs to read your statement again. When u make a general statement like that without qualifying it, then the statement is assumed in its entirity. (part of my job scope requires me to draft project contract agreements). biggrin.gif

Well u need to look at it from a different perspective as well. Most of those cars mentioned are top buck cars unlike the much cheaper Altis and Camry. Affordability of the masses plays an important role here. If Audi's, Lambo's and Porsche's were priced similar to say a Camry, do u really think the numbers would be lopsided?

Same reason why Proton is doing so well in Malaysia. Because their cars are cheaper than most of the foreign makes (through rather unfair practices of course). But does Proton's much better sale figures actually indicate a quality product? You be the judge. biggrin.gif
