the most critical thing bout honda that i hate is the 5k service interval, but the new Civic now has 10k service interval.Awesome!

The servicing cost is quite reasonable as well+5 years warranty, way to improve i would say.. I guess the Japs have finally realize that consumers are not so dumb after all these years of substandard package+astronomical pricing tongue.gif

Hybrid version still priced at 120k after tax exemption... why ah? anybody und? =)
*
imported cars need an AP (franchise AP in this case, not open AP), and 3 taxes. if i'm not mistaken, the exemption is only for 2 of the 3 taxes, thats why there is still a slight price difference between peninsular pricing compared to langkawi/labuan

went to showroom, the SA told me that 2.0 SOHC is the new engine from honda. honda started to focus go green, wan save FC so switch from DOHC to SOHC. what the heck?? i think producing a SOHC engine is much cheaper than DOHC engine. SOHC performance wise will be slightly lose to DOHC at high speed? maybe louder sound of engine?

Soch engine should be lighter and less noisy. It is just impressive that honda could match doch performance with a Soch setup.

Advantages to having a DOHC engine over a SOHC is that the engine has twice as many intake and exhaust valves as a SOHC engine. This makes the engine run cooler and more smoothly, quietly, and efficiently. But the downfall is that DOHC engines cost more for repairs.

DOHC engines also allows the spark plug to be placed right in the middle of the combustion chamber. This promotes efficient combustion. With SOHC, the camshaft is usually in the middle of the head because it has to drive both the intake and exhaust valves, robbing the sparkplug of it’s optimal location.

A SOHC 16 valve engine would have better torque on the low end where the DOHC valvetrain’s weight results in lower torque. But at high engine speeds, the 16 valve DOHC engine’s peak torque and horsepower would be greater.

BRAVO!!!

4G92 SOHC and 4G92 DOHC both have 16 valves ... 2 intake 2 exhaust per piston ..

a DOHC will have bigger surface hence can use bigger valve with more flow ..

DOHC will have more freedom to tune .. where the intake and exhaust cam is seperated (assume with DVVT or adjustable cam pulley) ..

DOHC dun run cooler then SOHC ..

SMOOTHLY ? .. both have pros and cons ..
SOHC .. at low rev where the valve smaller .. area smaller.. the air flow mixture will have better mixture .. hence it will be more powerful at low rev..

DOHC .. at low rev .. the air flow is slower coz too much space.. but at high rpm .. the flow need to be faster tat is when DOHC is better then SOHC ..

regardless how the SOHC n DOHC. did u guys experience before with the engine of accord 2.0, crv 2.0 before? its engine vibration is very obvious, when rev the engine sound is tremendously loud, same goes to civic 1.8. abit upset when honda announce premium variant like civic 2.0(maybe future accord 2.4) go into SOHC engine.

SOHC is actually a better choice for normal city drive.. if u like high rev all the time .. DOHC would be the better bet..

didnt actually drove any new accord, crv or civic before .. but i experinece civic NVH (previous gen).. not tat good .. i think that is what contributing to the loud engine sound..

Vibration wise still okay ..
