I had bad experience using CC for petrol in MY. once I pump at ulu palces, the line have some problem and the sales girl try for a while before it finally work. End of the month, my statement showed 3x transaction for same amount of petrol within a few minutes apart. I called the Maybank SG and they ask me to settle it with the station owner directly (3 hours drive away), no extra help from them. Now I seldom use that CC.
that is very bad service.
what if we went for a holiday and paid for hotel which happen to have the same case as yours
fly all the way back to settle with the owner?! sweat.gif sweat.gif
surprising that such customer service survived in sg. laugh.gif laugh.gif

The only paper work involved are:
- payable check to me.
- a service job report copy to client and myself, signed by both parties. (it also serves as payment receipt)

this is bad, your client has all the evidence agianst you if relationship turn sour or may wanna 'kena' you one day.

have 2 frens kena EP cancelled bcos some1 lodged complain with proof. never ask them to clarify. kena slap with a BIG full-stop vmad.gif , thats it!!

DBS/posb got the most ATM around town but also their ATM always got long queue one ha ha. singapore credit cards interest rate damn expensive one, should always pay every month in full. poorfag or richfag also good to have a couple cards for convenience + dining privileges.

The ranking would be like this:
ATMS; DBS/POSB > UOB > OCBC
Queue; DBS/POSB > UOB > OCBC

So UOB would give you the best balance.

I was recently told that to open a UOB savings:
Nid to deposit $1k
Maintain $500 per month, otherwise there will be charges
SHow ur Epass, passport, Msian NRIC
Proof of address in SIngapore (I'm not sure can use office addres or not. But I think they should insist home address since wat if u staying w a relative and using prepaid phone, then no proof u stay there.

But I rmbr when i open mine, no nid deposit a single cent!! Just show them my HR letter proving that I'm employed..

Wlcling,

I must. comment. on. this. You use. period so. random. rclxms.gif

Anyway, opened OCBC account yesterday. Minimum 1k in account is a must or I will be charged $2 a month.
If account closed within 6 months there is a $30 charge. Both conditions not a problem for me so I went with their "Smart Parent" account. (Just a name, I'm not a parent)

No bank book, only ebanking account, monthly bank statement, and a debit card. Pretty standard. nod.gif

1) Means if you leave before your bond expires, you pay them back
2) Most likely they will offer 1st year associate, at most as an experienced A1. Pay last I heard around $2.2-2.3k (entry level)
3) Depends on your luck
4) No idea.

2.2-2.3 is quite low. May I know when was the last time u heard this? Coz Big4 since last year has revised all staff salary range, fresh grad entry is 2800. Doesnt if this apply to Big5 like BDO?

Why singapore only start show on May 2?

USA release date is May 4 tongue.gif

Quite a number of studios starting to release their movies in Asia first lately to combat piracy. So the earlier your country gets a movie release, the higher the piracy level is tongue.gif

Big 5? Still 4 lah.

You're right about the 2.8 though. The Deloittes auditors auditing my company this year told me the same thing. Not sure about BDO though. They don't get the same kind of big fee clients that the Big4 do.

Is there anyone here working in the Big 4 in Singapore?

My friend working there recently told me that they expect you to work until 11pm everyday and to meet very stringent targets on work utilisation rates (70% of your total time working in a year must be charged to a client) and recovery rates for projects (min 70%) or else you'll get a warning letter. We're both working in Tax, except he's in Singapore and I'm in Malaysia. So far in my office, we get to go back at any time as long as our work is done by the deadline. And when we have low recovery rates for a project, we generally have a good reason as to why (eg. client gave crap information, there was more problems with the project than expected, etc). I feel that issuing a warning letter for things that might be out of your control rather drastic.

Anyone can confirm this work practice in the Big4 there? Is it a normal work practice in Singapore?

There's no 5, it is still 4. And they are not the fifth either in spore.

So no, the pay revision doesn't apply to BDO. Let's just say the info I have is fairly recent, if you think it is too low, then you can just try requesting for 2.8 and see if they will give you that. No harm trying.
