Call PosLaju bro..confirm with them whether custom just wanna inspect or they've already detained your parcel..

Bugger Kastam!!!

Bought a model kit from HLJ. EMS to sandakan. Total is 16,700 Yen = 500.955 MYR

below is wat the 'Taksiran'

32.18+0.00+67.57=99.75

so the tax is 19.9%!!!

KK kastam never call n they MACAM never buka the box to check, n neither they look at the invoice HLJ attached at the box cover ( the invoice still sealed tight in its plastic cover). mb they just look at the value tat the sender wrote at the EMS sticker?

when ask the pos laju girl how to appeal? she says no kastam in sandakan, u have to talk to KK kastam loh ... ( i m in sandakan leh...5 hours drivin / 30 minutes flight )



is there anything i can do ?

i check the Kastam Tarrif website, TARI 9503, the kastam seems to be simply tax me...

i bayar oledi, can i appeal n request for refund?

mb those who r not living at the capitol city is always the most unfortunate punya....canot negotiate, appeal, etc...

i've been to the kk customs personally and i would say they handled them quite fairly. they have the right to charge custom duties even on a 1 yen item. i'm not sure how i can help you.. but if anything let me know and i'll see how i can. learn your lesson now and make sure don't go spending spree next time.

back to my case where i lost 6 parcels. i wrote to Pos Malaysia and made myself heard (with pretty harsh words by my standard) and received everything within 3 days. quite coincidence, all of them released by customs throughout June, from beginning to tail, and received everything at one go at the beginning of august. well, case closed. lesson learned, and i'll never trust those fellows again.

on monday i m going to start writing, to kk kastam offis, the pos ofis kastam n oso the kl hq. hope to get their attention

tat part no need to use force to move, definately not my fault either as i never apply brute force.

That's the downside of online purchase..you can't check the condition before buying..

I don't think HLJ can do much about it. Even if they allow you to exchange the product, you still have to bear the shipping cost to Japan..

call up kastam pejabat pos kk today. telefonist sambung here n there at last can talk to the officer. but dun understand wat he xplained on phone. so i write and fax to him all info i have: invoice, kastam notis etc.

surprisingly that officer called me bec, n step by step he guide me how to kira...i assume he had a kakulator n all the info with him, fully prepared.

although the tax hurt me a bit, but eventually i felt relieve as my doubt is clear, becoz he is quite proffesional, talk oso lemah lembut...

Can't help it.... the kastam always have rough hands and like to simply open up n check sampai "tak ada kisah" for handle with care. That's a pitty downside of their check. That's why EMS sumtimes get people worry alot. But lucky for those KL folks who can get their items without kastam check thru POS Laju.

Anyone experienced order fr HLJ via SAL but did not received item. How do you check with the pos office or custom. I did check with the pos office and they said without the item no they could not check. I checked with HLJ and their reply is that the item was sent by normal SAL and there is no item number and untrackable. Ask me to wait until 90days then only contact them again. It has been 35 days now. Dont know what to do now.
