hey there, im new to this forum, i just finished reading this 31-page thread and it kinda scared me. My friend has sent me a parcel with toys in it from singapore, now im worried if im gonna get taxed. The parcel is medium sized i guess and shipped using airparcel. So all you pros in shipping and stuff, do u think i will get taxed? icon_question.gif

Thanks

Anyone got experience buying any airsoft guns and ship to Malaysia?

I'm not completely sure but the way the laws/rules are, I don't think its even possible. Maybe having sort of like an insider there or perhaps through bribing might work (or not) which is of course against the law. Heck even sword replicas won't do (at least thats what I understood after talking to a random customs officer).
Still, back when I was studying at Thailand, I remember a friend of mine who seludup one air rifle by totally disassembling it. It took him 3-4 trips back and forth, if I wasn't mistaken, here at Sabah. Seriously. sweat.gif
I was shocking.gif and at the same time envious... damn, made me remember my beloved guns in which i was forced to "donate" cry.gif
If you have the balls to do that, then maybe you could try but don't quote/blame me wink.gif

Whoa... you went thru all the pages? sweat.gif
i'm no pro but i dont think you'll get taxed... that is, unless its really over the weight limit and/or you happen to meet an evil customs officer. Speaking of which, you could've tried to get it personally since its Singapore unless you live very very far away like me. I remember getting my stuff outta there to Johor then fly straight to Sabah cool2.gif No tax. Maybe I was lucky or maybe my situation was different. In any case, its too late for that now since your friend have already sent it.
Don't worry. Why so serious? wink.gif

Errmmm....I feeling bad now. Coz I purchased 2 painted Resin model kit which are 1/6 from Togstyle. Worst case is they are shipped from Guandong, China to KL through EMS.....
More teruk is that they are hentai model kit.
What would be the worst thing happen, if i will get caught by custom.
Coz both kits are combined cost like RM612......oh my...will the poslaju people call for my items before they deliver or so i need to go poslaju KL (as i live around KL). I really don't know what will be the worst case scenario.

PS: Those model kits have arrived in KL. Just that i haven't got any phone call from Poslaju or do i go poslaju to collect my items? or go KLIA to collect? Plus, i have printed a proof of China EMS tracking record of the model kits code on it.

Of course they will open it and check what item is it. Then they will tax you accordingly.

Dunno if will be too late to trace back, but just contact the play-asia for any info, most importantly your tracker number. Be sure that you get to have your record of your tracker. If not sweat.gif, they have to refund your money back.

ok...now i m in sandakan, sabah, n my hlj package is destinationed to sandakan oso. but i check the japan post ems tracking, my package arrived in KL...but, the status is always:Awaiting presentation to customs commissioner. oledi 1 day liao....

Q1 : how long they need to 'presentation'
Q2 : after presentation, they send to sandakan? or they want the receiver to go to KL to pay tax if there is any? (<-- die loh if macam tu...)
Q3 : Aren't they supposed to Tokyo>KL>KK>Sandakan? then examined by Sandakan Kastam? i saw that kastam got a big ofis building just beside the Sandakan ofis leh...

pening pening...

IMO, once your parcel is in Malayisa, KL, you have to contact PosLaju and check with them coz sometimes JapanPost EMS will update slow since your parcel is already in Msia.

They will send to Sabah..dun worry..
Normally since the parcel is to be sent to Sabah and Sabah/Sandakan has its own kastam, they will send it there.

I recommend you to check with PosLaju nearby your area, just give them a call and tell them the tracking number smile.gif

i'm from kk. usually if your stuff value less than 10,000yen then it will take 2~3 days to arrive kk. but if more, then probably less than a week and prepared to pay custom duties. that's why i always keep my purchase below 10,000yen or usd100 to be safe.
