ooo, im from Kuching actually, but working in Miri full time. Generally i found Miri courier staff kinda friendly and helpful, be it SkyNet, PosLaju, Pusat Mel, etc. But about the Customs, i think maybe depends on the officers there; probably i got lucky and have the friendly one layan me, haha.

im not sure if this is true, but my parcel from Hong Kong kena tahan even though the declare value is less than rm400 (i asked angolz.com to reduce it)... could it be that EMS parcel from certain countries are 'tahan'ed automatically? My parcel from Japan never kena tahan.

i think its random..but if you declare the goods at RM500 sure kena tahan but if its less then it will depend on your luck

guys, i bought something from US, total cost + shipping is USD206, which around RM700..item already arrive at Malaysia yesterday evening, but the status still said item Into Foreign Customs.



this evening, some girl from POs Office KLIA call me and ask me to remember some number, but I not really clear the whole conversation, since she's mumbling a lot...what should I do...the phone number from her call still remain in my HP...I suspect my parcel was detain by custom since the value is exceeded RM500...anyone know how to settle this? and if i have to pay for tax, how much is it?

Tax should be 15% of the total.

yes, just call pos laju, i nominate them as the custom clearance agent, and they said my parcel will be taxed for 15%, but forgot to ask them, 15% of total (including postage) or 15% of item only?

its always 15% of the final total of the invoice which is of course incl. postage. If there are insurance charges then they will also consider it

buy thing from ebay before...and request the seller from Japan to write bill amount as 10 USD and declare as gift. Use EMS to send and arrive after 2-3 days and no kena tax. However...my thing is less than 1kg and small box.

I ask the seller declare the value in US$70, but still detained by customs. But still dont have pos malaysia or customs call me. Who have facing the same problem like me before? Is there have chance to clear out if find out the item no suspection?
