I'm a beginner just like you. bought C3 with twin lens back in February, i wasn't aware of 5N at that time....i was looking for entry level non PnS camera.  I was checking out Panasonic GF3 and NEX C3.  From my point of view, if we are beginner, and dunno much about lens, kit lens 18-55mm is good enough.  I would go for 5N if the price is only a slight different.  Well, if you have look into different lens, and would like to have the wide angle pencake lens 16mm then I would probably go for C3 twin lens.  FYI, 5N has touch screen and we can add remote shutter control device.

Now with F3, the newer model...I'm not sure what I will choose if I'm you now....F3 has added self-portrait, auto portrait framing and some cool features.  The physical outlook look quite similar to NEX 7.  You probably have to go to shop and try it out to find out what you like.  F3 has twin lens package, as well as the SEL50F18 option as well.

After few study, I prefer stay with SEL50F18 and Sigma 19mm lens, it provide better IQ with Nex5n.

I still vote for NEX5n for the touch screen function as it only applied on Nex5N rclxm9.gif

high 5... touch screen rox... thumbup.gif
agree with jimmy, SEL lens always hv better IQ compare with sigma... picture quality wise, maybe sigma will be a lil bit better...
after i back from a trip, i personally feel the 18-55mm lens is important cos of the OSS, 16mm great for me to shoot marina bay laser show with tripod at night rclxm9.gif SEL30M35 not only shoot for food and macros, i use to walk and snap... suprising, the result is kinda miracle for me... will upload pics soon...

now fund for SEL50F18 or perhaps... ready for the next update of nex7 shocking.gif

Can I know the street price for F3 with twin lens and the SEL50F18? And which shops offer this option.

You can ask it from Sony centre, as they doing promotion on F3 bundle with SEL50F18 with only top up few hundred bucks.

Superb smile.gif

In indoor event I always shoot wide open. Because it gives really a lot of sharpness.
So far never regret buying it. biggrin.gif

sharpness is default in ACR, I shoot raw however.
heavily processed ah.. just within the area of Camera raw and smoothing the face due to uneven lighting.
nothing to do with sharpness other than that. biggrin.gif

oh ya my pic has quite a bit of noise, ISO 1600 push 1 stop or 0.5 like that.

don't get me wrong, they are nice, sharp and contrasty, this would make a killer print out, they have the "punch"
just that it can looks a bit artificial sometime

Define affordable? tongue.gif
To some, fake Crumpler is the max they can go while others might not bat an eyelid to splurge on Billingham or Artisan Artist bags....
Easier if you specify your budget and what other accessory/lenses you want to fit into the bag....

Having said that, for my set-up which consist of NEX7, 18-200, 50 OSS and Sigma 19mm, I used Crumpler 5MDH and still have some space for handphone, keys, spare batteries, cigarette box, etc...

Currently using this all-weather shoulder bag: http://products.lowepro.com/product/Apex-120-AW,1902,20.htm
Can fit NEX-5 + Sigma 19, plus Sony 18-200, with ample space for passport, wallet, other useful little things. Sling around shoulder, very secure.
