Hi guys, I know this is a Sony Nex discussion, and I've already posted at the Wanna buy New Camera thread. I'm really torn between Sony NEX F3 and Canon 550D. The key points I wanna highlight are these:

1) I really want the 50mm F/1.8 lens.
2) With that lens and the prime lens, Canon 550D is only heavier by about 100g~150g.
3) Sony will cost RM600~RM900 more than Canon including the 50mm F/1.8 lens.
4) (I think) Sony performs slightly better in terms of image quality in low-light condition.

I mainly shoot candid shots and objects, and I love bokeh. Is the 16mm pancake worth getting and useful? If I decide to go for Sony, I'll be getting either:

1) NEX F3 + 50mm OR
2) NEX C3 twin lens + 50mm

Please let me hear your thoughts and how'd you decide. I need to upgrade soon and I still haven't decided.

Thanks everyone for the long replies!

My priority... I guess I really want to just take interesting pictures when I go out, so mainly landscape/scenery, candid portraits yes, and interesting objects that catch my eyes. So, I guess Sony is the way to go. But still not sure if I should get twin lens. One more question from a camera noob here, do people actually go out with just the 16mm pancake without zoom lens? (for normal everyday shots)

Can I know the street price for F3 with twin lens and the SEL50F18? And which shops offer this option.

Would you rather get the additional 16mm pancake or SEL50F18 if you can only get either one? 16mm is of course cheaper with the twin lens package. I shoot equal amount of landscapes and portraits.

I'm interested in F3, but planning to get it this Friday. Do you think you can gather enough people before then?

Is RM1,800 considered a good deal for F3K (card+bag)?

I'm sorry for the stupid question as I've never owned DSLR, but if I have two lenses, how do I protect the other end of the lens which is not protected by lens cap when it's not in use? (very sayang my camera) Surely I can't just dump it in my bag?

@jimmyyap, okay! will get the cap.

Wanted to buy 50mm 1.8 too. But the lowest price I got is 950, and most of them have to order and pay deposit. Where can I get 900? Tight budget these days...
