Was showing off my NEX-F3 to my dad, who's eyeing the F5. So excited to find that there're E-mount adapters for good ol' Minolta lenses!

Yeah, they are pretty comparable. When i bought it i thought if they cost pretty much the same, why not go for the newer model, but i guess the argument could go the other way since the 5N is several times better at continuous shooting. I don't have the 5N, so can't compare personal experience XD

yeap,i have the same feeling as well, especially after reading this review
http://www.theverge.com/2012/6/8/3069074/sony-nex-f3-review

i don care what the author say in the review, but the image is either very overexpose or underexpose, the strawberry shots also has red clipping(over saturate red),and somewhat softness in the image, its just awful

Went to try out the 5n n f3 today... Guess I can't used this camera I find it difficult to do the setting. I never compare it with my dslr but I was thinking of something at least as easy to set as my s90 but was kinda of disappointed after trying.

I'm not aware of that, sorry. I got mine from Canada's SonyStyle website days after it was announced. Not a lot of options then.

The NEX is a good camera. Just that the people who uses it may not be good enough.

I'm looking to replace my damaged Sony compact (quoted price to fix: 640MYR sad.gif )
The camera will be used during travelling and for normal daily shots.

Currently looking at the NEX-F3, but is the predecessor, NEX-C3 a better camera in general (based on reviews I skimmed through) ? The price of F3 is lower than C3 at YL Camera though.

Or should I straight aim for the NEX-5N.

I would like to ask for some recommendation and advice on getting a sony nex cam.

Beginner in photography, was planning to get nex C3 twin lens package but den a friend of mine suggest me getting nex 5N with 18-55mm, and top up with lens later on. Getting 5N twin lens is way out of my budget for now.

So shud i stick with C3 twin lens or go with 5N 18-55mm lens only?
Thanks in advance for help ^^

I'm a beginner just like you. bought C3 with twin lens back in February, i wasn't aware of 5N at that time....i was looking for entry level non PnS camera. I was checking out Panasonic GF3 and NEX C3. From my point of view, if we are beginner, and dunno much about lens, kit lens 18-55mm is good enough. I would go for 5N if the price is only a slight different. Well, if you have look into different lens, and would like to have the wide angle pencake lens 16mm then I would probably go for C3 twin lens. FYI, 5N has touch screen and we can add remote shutter control device.

Now with F3, the newer model...I'm not sure what I will choose if I'm you now....F3 has added self-portrait, auto portrait framing and some cool features. The physical outlook look quite similar to NEX 7. You probably have to go to shop and try it out to find out what you like. F3 has twin lens package, as well as the SEL50F18 option as well.
