QUOTE(jimmyyap03 @ Apr 15 2012, 01:30 AM) Just finished my Basic Nex workshop today A mount adapter will enable you to have more selection later on. http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/se...Number=SEL55210 http://www.ylcamera.com.my/ but from my view if you do not have any plan to purchase more lens within these few years then buying E-mount lens is a good choice and save $$$. EA2 alone will cost more than RM1k right? |

QUOTE(illegaldragon87 @ Apr 30 2012, 10:31 AM) looking for a portrait lens as well...is SEL50F18 auto-focus very slow? a few second? other cheaper alternative buying adapter + lens for example Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 D, and Minolta 50mm F1.7 these will be without auto focus?....how about other setting? shoot mode only manual? aperture and etc, can controlled by camera? or all has to to manual setting on the lens? thanks |

QUOTE(sbvc79 @ Jun 3 2012, 10:38 PM) any cheap adapter out there for nex5n to use other cheaper lens?? sony lens is killing me with his sky rocking price man!!! yeah it is quite expensivei was in Boeing Photo (Empire Mall), trying out SEL50F18 (RM1050) auto focus is as fast as my kit len....would have get it if < RM1000 now still thinking over it, whether should get adapter with other 50mm lens likes Minolta or Nikkor pro of using E-mount lens, SEL50F18 is auto focus and no need adapter pro of using adapter and other lens is cheaper and if go out in a group, lens can be used by other camera body Added on June 3, 2012, 10:51 pm QUOTE(serewen @ Jun 3 2012, 10:08 PM) Tested with my Minota Rokkor-X 50MM F1.7 May I know where you got it? and also the adapteraside from manual focus, aperture can be controlled by the body? (Nikkor aperture will be controlled by lens) thanks This post has been edited by jtleon: Jun 3 2012, 10:51 PM |

QUOTE(huieye @ Jun 3 2012, 10:56 PM) for E-mount, there is only one option SEL18200 (RM2999) weight >500gfor A-mount, there are DT 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 (SAL18200) and DT 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 (SAL18250) -> this one retail for RM2299 to put A-mount lens on NEX, you need either LA-EA2(has built-in AF motor and 15-point AF sensor) or LA-EA1 (no built-in AF motor) LA-EA2 retail at RM1199 which is about 2x of the retail price of LA-EA1 (retail at RM599) we should be able to get slightly cheaper than the reported retail price This post has been edited by jtleon: Jun 3 2012, 11:34 PM |

QUOTE(huieye @ Jun 3 2012, 11:46 PM) welcome...i dunno as I do not have any 18-200mm or any ~10x zoom lens but you can always check the result in flickr if you already have kit lens (18-55mm), then buying 55-210 should be an option as well (but you need to change len) SEL55210 retail at RM1399, so much cheaper than the SEL18200 Added on June 4, 2012, 12:50 am QUOTE(nlik @ Jun 4 2012, 12:10 AM) Tamron already has an 18-200 for e-mount, model B011. More compact size and weight ,comparable or similar image quality. However, Image Stabilisation and Sweep panorama not as good as Sony. thanks for the info, didn't know Tamron has e-mount lensSony will soon release a second cheaper version of their e-mount 18-200 as well,.... some say it would almost be a Tamron clone. Otherwise e-mount 55-210 is also available at 1/2 the price of the 18-200. ==================== found a nice post below, comparing both SEL18200 and Tamron 18-200mm http://sonyalphalab.com/2012/02/sony-e-mou...-the-sony-nex-7 do also check the comment by the author at the end. of course this is his personal view only....but I do agree with him. QUOTE I already tested the E-Mount 55-210mm. I can tell you that it’s sharper than the 18-200mm Sony for sure. Personally I would rather have the 18-55mm kit lens and the 55-210mm lens as apposed to the All-in-one solution. As good as the all in one solution is, it’s just physically impossible to get the same quality for the price in my opinion. This post has been edited by jtleon: Jun 4 2012, 12:58 AM |

anyone using Sigma 30mm f/2.8 (SIG-30F28-SOE-SSK) mind to share your experience?
thinking of getting this one for general purpose photography including portrait. (this is is cheaper than SEL50F18 of course for portrait SEL50F18 is definitely superior, but I'm not shooting portrait majority of the time) |

QUOTE(morning06 @ Jun 11 2012, 04:15 PM) I would like to ask for some recommendation and advice on getting a sony nex cam. I'm a beginner just like you. bought C3 with twin lens back in February, i wasn't aware of 5N at that time....i was looking for entry level non PnS camera. I was checking out Panasonic GF3 and NEX C3. From my point of view, if we are beginner, and dunno much about lens, kit lens 18-55mm is good enough. I would go for 5N if the price is only a slight different. Well, if you have look into different lens, and would like to have the wide angle pencake lens 16mm then I would probably go for C3 twin lens. FYI, 5N has touch screen and we can add remote shutter control device.Beginner in photography, was planning to get nex C3 twin lens package but den a friend of mine suggest me getting nex 5N with 18-55mm, and top up with lens later on. Getting 5N twin lens is way out of my budget for now. So shud i stick with C3 twin lens or go with 5N 18-55mm lens only? Thanks in advance for help ^^ Now with F3, the newer model...I'm not sure what I will choose if I'm you now....F3 has added self-portrait, auto portrait framing and some cool features. The physical outlook look quite similar to NEX 7. You probably have to go to shop and try it out to find out what you like. F3 has twin lens package, as well as the SEL50F18 option as well. |

QUOTE(kelvin_hata @ Oct 7 2012, 02:07 PM) as mentioned, 2 different category.Rx100 is digital compact camera while 5r is mirrorless. no many need a compact camera these days as camera phone has improved a lot, but with RX100 things has changed. see below details for Rx100 QUOTE Startup time is fast. The camera can fire up and lock onto a target in under three seconds. In nearly every scenario, autofocus and shutter reaction time is speedy, but with the aperture set to 1.8, it feels quicker than lightning. All of this is attributable to the Exmor R sensor, Bionz image processor, and the 28-100mm equivalent Zeiss lens. so if you are casual user, then Rx100 sounds good, just that it may not take good landscape picture in certain situation (not wide enough) Retail price is 2499 for Rx100, 5R is 2399? (but 5R u might spend more later, as you would buy lens) This post has been edited by jtleon: Oct 7 2012, 02:20 PM |
