I think you better read more on rooting and flash first before you can mod your phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1336

I'm thinking if we connect OTG to MHL adapter instead of direct to phone, will it work or not? will try it when free tonight.
1 thing I found out is, when we connect MHL, with charger connect on the adapter, the charging is only USB power.

Sorry wanna ask about the gnex toolkit... We just need to follow the steps inside the toolkit to root + backup? Example step 1. install usb driver, 2. unlock,3. root, 4.rename restore file? Actually what is rename restore file? WE must do that?? If we do nandriod backup.. where will our backup keep? can we keep the backup inside our com?

if nandroid backup via CWM recovery, the files saved under current date name folder, under internal SD/ClockworkMod, you can copy it out to your pc. no problem.

Yeah but I just did until root. Then do nandroid back up, transfer the back up folder into PC (find it in clockworkmod folder > backup) then start to flash any custom ROM

For app and data backup, you need to use Titanium. Nandroid backup is to backup the whole OS.
