Mine is yakjuxw too and im on 4.0.1 now. Thinking of flashing to yakju, will it help on battery life?

Any recommend music player? Hv features such as sort by album artist and sound check?

if you can read chinese, kuwo or kugou music box works well.

Ok i just get my Gnex Mercury Casing from South Korea. Shipment date on 10/01/2012, arrive on 17/01/2012. Total 7 Days which is quite fast. My review on this casing:

PROS

a) Fit perfectly and feel confident.

b) Holes for speaker, mic, camera, headphone jack, usb, power and volume button fit position perfectly.

c) Nice quality. (dont compare with those over rm100 pls)

d) Nice color, as shown in pictures.

e) Cover the whole phone nicely. Means u can actually put ur gnex screen face down without scratching on ur screen.

f) Fair price + free screen protector.

CONS

a) Leave fingerprint @ oily surface on the casing. Personally i dont mind coz we are looking at the screen not the casing.

b) Got little shinning shinning dots on the casing surface which i found a bit girly.

Here Some Pictures Taken for my Gnex, ENJOY!!

I'm quite bothered by that too. Google punya problem, they resize the pictures back even when we uploaded a high resolution one. I'm still finding a proper solution for this. The only way to get a good pictures IMHO is using Friendcaster- sync FB to phone contacts. But not as HD as they should be..

i am a heavy internet usage ppl xD
if i at home sure no use nexus to surf net
but when at outside??
fb and then surf web those i think may be not over
but why don go for umobile?since it is unlimited xD sign plan nexus sell on digi are 1999 for 2 years = = i buy ori 2099 from sme no tie contract

u mobile once over 500mb then speed become 64kbps
and it just good in KL area

QUOTE(mark @ Jan 18 2012, 01:04 AM)
For Digi, it's "unlimited". Once you hit 3GB, you will still be able to surf, just very very slow.

Correct me if I'm wrong, same goes for umobile. It is "unlimited" but once you hit 500MB, you can still surf, just very slow.

Best to connect your phone to whichever WIFI you can find. I use about 1-2GB on WIFI per month, but only a few hundred MB on 3G.
*
ya 64kbps
before that i also think about sign plan with DG
but, since i normally in KL, so use umobile prepaid unlimited internet
and go out / when that area no wifi only use it

Try UberMusic but that one you have to buy. I like it coz it has WP7 interface in it, plus the beautiful artist/album background when a song is played or on focus. But no equalizer or mod to the sound quality though

thanks bro, but can it sort by album artist?

Yeah, you can customize the sorting (or Tabs as the dev call it) either by artist, albums etc even folders.

To get OTA, the phone need to be stock and unrooted?
I've rooted and using stock yakju rom from day one and I got OTA update. After the update, I got the red exclamation android screen.
*
Like i have posted before., all depends on the updates itself. Maybe you can receive OTA 4.0.2 while rooted with stock rom but it doesn't mean the same with 4.0.3. Different updates different installer, i think. The most safe way to receive OTA updates is stay on official stock rom without any rooting.
But of course for the rooted phone can always update by flashing when the time comes :-))

what ROM are you using? Try full wipe (data, cache, dalvik cache) and reflash?

you need to flash these customization files, search for hooolm circle mod, they look way better. Designed from the ground up for 720p.

I was trying franco kernel only...will multiple time flashing or wiping data harm the phone?
it did not boot so then I put google yagbu rom..again did not boot.

so what are the steps actually....? pls confirm if I did right

Backup followed by option bootloader, then unlock option...then I run CWM recovery stuff from where i installed the .zip of kernel.... I did not rename something ..there was an option for rename file..

is this right...if someone has used gnex toolkit pls letme know do I need to follow all the steps or individual. Just letme know brief steps(order) I will search more on their details.

Added on January 18, 2012, 9:38 amI was thinking to put bigxie rom...so good combination?
also when we need to update the rom released by the developers ...all my data will be gone? how can I restore my data from old rom to new rom?
I have taken backup from gnex tookit..so can I put it back on my phone after I flash new rom?

franco kernel is only for android 4.0.3
so if you wanna use it.. you need to use it with a 4.0.3 based custom rom

steps?
- wipe data/factory reset (if you are coming from a diff rom)
- wipe cache
- advanced>wipe dalvik cache
- flash custom rom
- immediately flash kernel
- reboot the phone

what is the best custom rom is subjective to user... so give it a try on a few roms until you find which suits you most

we need to update our rom when there is a new release/update
check xda-developers forum
check rootzwiki forum

some roms release their update at rootzwiki 1st.. after a few days then they update at xda forum
backup and restoring your data = Titanium Backup is your friend whistling.gif

I use the toolkit to unlock & root the phone only. The rest I use CWM & fastboot commands. You don't have to rename anything to flash stuff, simply choose OK will do. I'm not so sure if installing ROM will wipe your data coz I always wipe everything before flashing new ROM. But according to my reading, data such as music and photos will not be wiped when you do factory reset via CWM, but will be wiped clean if we do the default factory reset inside the OS.

What I always do:
1) Put the ROMblabla.zip into internal storage
2) Go to CWM (hold volume up+down+start buttons), wipe factory reset, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache
3) Flash ROMblabla.zip
4) Reboot
