Mine is yakjuxw too and im on 4.0.1 now. Thinking of flashing to yakju, will it help on battery life?

Any recommend music player? Hv features such as sort by album artist and sound check?
*
Try UberMusic but that one you have to buy. I like it coz it has WP7 interface in it, plus the beautiful artist/album background when a song is played or on focus. But no equalizer or mod to the sound quality though

Yeah mine too. Need to FC the app manually. Now uninstalled sleep.gif. Maybe we have to wait for a proper ROM for that.. I dunno. Come come CM9!

Hmmm can i know y all my contact pictures blur? is there any setting to make it clear?
*
I'm quite bothered by that too. Google punya problem, they resize the pictures back even when we uploaded a high resolution one. I'm still finding a proper solution for this. The only way to get a good pictures IMHO is using Friendcaster- sync FB to phone contacts. But not as HD as they should be..

thanks bro, but can it sort by album artist?
*
Yeah, you can customize the sorting (or Tabs as the dev call it) either by artist, albums etc even folders.

Yeah but the photos are not in high resolution. Even if I snap it manually.

I was trying franco kernel only...will multiple time flashing or wiping data harm the phone?
it did not boot so then I put google yagbu rom..again did not boot.

so what are the steps actually....? pls confirm if I did right

Backup followed by option bootloader, then unlock option...then I run CWM recovery stuff from where i installed the .zip of kernel.... I did not rename something ..there was an option for rename file..

is this right...if someone has used gnex toolkit pls letme know do I need to follow all the steps or individual. Just letme know brief steps(order) I will search more on their details.

Added on January 18, 2012, 9:38 amI was thinking to put bigxie rom...so good combination?
also when we need to update the rom released by the developers ...all my data will be gone? how can I restore my data from old rom to new rom?
I have taken backup from gnex tookit..so can I put it back on my phone after I flash new rom?
*
I use the toolkit to unlock & root the phone only. The rest I use CWM & fastboot commands. You don't have to rename anything to flash stuff, simply choose OK will do. I'm not so sure if installing ROM will wipe your data coz I always wipe everything before flashing new ROM. But according to my reading, data such as music and photos will not be wiped when you do factory reset via CWM, but will be wiped clean if we do the default factory reset inside the OS.

What I always do:
1) Put the ROMblabla.zip into internal storage
2) Go to CWM (hold volume up+down+start buttons), wipe factory reset, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache
3) Flash ROMblabla.zip
4) Reboot

Sorry wanna ask about the gnex toolkit... We just need to follow the steps inside the toolkit to root + backup? Example step 1. install usb driver, 2. unlock,3. root, 4.rename restore file? Actually what is rename restore file? WE must do that?? If we do nandriod backup.. where will our backup keep? can we keep the backup inside our com?
*
Yeah but I just did until root. Then do nandroid back up, transfer the back up folder into PC (find it in clockworkmod folder > backup) then start to flash any custom ROM

Nah cannot use Doubletwist now to sync. The developer mentioned it in his Market page. Need to have Airsync to sync via wifi. Slow but still works at least (GNex starts to boil up too lol)

Try installing the drivers from here : http://pdanet.co/bin/PdaNetA302.exe
It should work
Just follow the instructions to install (selecting Samsung as your device manufacturer if asked).

You can remove pdanet for Android from your phone and pc at a later time without removing the drivers.
*
yep I used this too, solved all drivers problem. Maybe phantomash should put this on first page smile.gif

hi, newbie here. im thinking to root my nexus and flash franco kernel.
currently on stock 4.0.1 rom, possible to flash to franco kernel? as it stated is 4.0.3.

beside that, since is a new phone and nth much inside. is it recommend to backup oso? nandroid.

thx
*
I would recommend enjoying the stock ICS first but me also root & flashed mine the same night I bought the phone lulz coz can't tahan.

I did the nandroid backup even for stock rom, just in case. It won't take long anyway.

I'm not sure if we can simply flash franco kernel on top of stock's. I think you need a custom rom with 4.0.3 first

Hey guys, when I'm calling my friend a few CNY greetings SMS came in and there is notification sound (multiple times). It gets so annoying because I've set my sound volume to max and talking with my friend...

Do you guys face this problem?
*
Yeah happened to me once but I'm not sure that was before I use custom ROM or on stock. Haven't experience it on AOKP, yet.

rooting is hard. sad.gif

Not hard. Understanding is hard (quite hard for early adopters). But it's fun once you get the basic idea. People usually won't get Nexus phones for casual use. They will try to push it to the max, tweaking here and there.
