I did backup from gnex toolkit..is it nandroid backup? I took complete backup..So when I will flash custom rom and kernel..can I use this backup to restore all myfiles and apps? or should I have taken other way to back up
*
all your files saved under internal SD card, will not impact when you flash custom rom. after flash custom rom, not recommended restore back the apps via recovery. the best is, use Titanium backup. after flash the custom rom. use TB restore back App only.

i'm not sure if it's a common issue.. but at digi when i collect my phone.. the back cover can't close completely.. one of the second bottom hinge did not have an opening.. it's a molding issue.. i could cut the opening myself but i requested another unit.. so for those who collect.. might wanna check out that.. if u didnt' pay attention u might not notice its'not close.. but look closely it's a small bump

v4.0.2
The Android 4.0.2 update was released on 28 November 2011, and fixed minor bugs on the Verizon Galaxy Nexus, the US launch of which was later delayed until December 2011

*Taken from Wikipedia. So i think there is no need rush to update 4.0.2 unless we want yakju in our phone.

Added on January 18, 2012, 2:06 pmBtw what is the different between verizon galaxy nexus and our gnex?

my fone is currently dead...tried to boot but it is not booting..only google logo+a lock...till morning no progress haha.
So suggest me whether my solution below is fine?
1. Factory setting reset
2. Unroot and lock again ( I guess not required because already reset)
3. Backup restore using Gnex toolkit
4. Start the flashing stuff again after creating Titanium backup
5. Once I m satisfied with my custom rom and kernel -> do Nandroid backup.

question..-> if something goes wrong or want to restore back to my best custom rom and kernel with all apps...can I restore everything from some other rom+kernel to my old backup using nandroid?

maybe for newbie, stay and familiar with stock first. for huge improvement or mod is only happen in custom rom in short term. once you ready, unlock bootloader, flash recovery, nandroid, flash custom rom.
next step, flash any better kernel, flash newer version of radio, mod launcher and so on.. really fun on flashing... laugh.gif
