QUOTE(kuekwee @ Jan 12 2012, 01:44 PM)
i know HDD price increase a lot due to thailand flood. Any idea about SSD price. my 120gb pecah, need to get more. Thinking of HDD but price is double jor.
*
SSD do not make use of rotor tat made in thailand so there will be no price hike as long nand flash stay low =)

how about creating a owner list of SSD user across all the brand?

for example, Crucial M4 user list, Corsair Force Series, OCZ Vertex series etcs?

*

QUOTE(iaknesnah @ Jan 12 2012, 07:42 PM)

*

QUOTE(antonio @ Jan 12 2012, 10:08 PM)

*
yup that what i m thinking brows.gif so we know who is the largest bad ass over there sucking all our money

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Jan 13 2012, 08:38 AM)
no problem as long as TS could accept "hi, pls add me to the list" PMs or this thread will be bombarded with this kind of replies.

btw, add me to the list  laugh.gif

2x Crucial M4 128GB in raid0

raid0 on MIVE-Z / i7 2600K @ 5.0GHz, dram 2133 7-9-7-20

haha u r sure be the 1st one in the list =)

QUOTE(iaknesnah @ Jan 13 2012, 09:46 AM)
+1 ... LOL, plus the list will be very messy since every brand has so many models too. and some users have more than 1 models and brands too like myself LOL.. icon_idea.gif
*
i think i will organise it according to brand with a sub classification of series/model range instead of specific model
for example
OCZ Vertex( consisit of all vertex regardless of vertex 2 3 enterprise etcs)
thumbup.gif

anyway more update will come soon but not so soon having final exam!!

Then should be ok. Mostly 10GB for a day up to 1 month, project done. Probably i will direct out put the data directly into storage rather keep it on SSD. Hope storage possess high reading rate.
Just SSD can handle millions (10-100) of read as single input or not ?
*
read shouldnt be a problem but write yes smile.gif

Is Kingston HyperX 120G good SSD? I heard SF chip is bad. any idea?
*
is the matter of what u looking for =)
reliability -> intel(but recently also using Sandforce chip for new models)
world record in speed -> sandforce
mix of reliability and speed -> Crucial M4 ( homebrew chip + intel & crucial joint venture nand a.k.a asian fry rice)

QUOTE(everling @ Jan 21 2012, 11:20 AM)
The Vertex 3 is cheaper and there are plenty of decent 120/128GB choices at the RM599 price point.
*
Get M4 if u hav lubang to get it from US whistling.gif it cost me RM603

QUOTE(Dackson @ Jan 21 2012, 03:30 PM)
which brand better ?
i want 240GB SSD

its depend on what you looking for, speed or reliability? rolleyes.gif

your score still very high....i am using Corsair Force 3 120GB Sata 3 on Sata 2 port but only managed to get 167MB read and 100MB write. I got a few question want to ask expert here as below:

a) Will it because my mobo dont support ACHI so the speed is so slow?
b) Any effect by using it for dual OS booting? Using it with 3 partitions : OSX Lion 1| Lion 2| Win7
c) besides, TRIM is enabled inside Win 7. This partition is about 60GB. But inside OSX cant support TRIM. In this situation, TRIM is covered 60GB under Win 7 or is covered whole SSD?
*
there a software called trim enabler in OSX to force enable trim in OSX snow leopard, but in lion it should be auto turn on once it detect its a SSD

QUOTE(PandoraV @ Jan 26 2012, 10:24 AM)
As your force 3 will only run on ide mode not even sata 1 speed.Currently running force GT 90GB & 120GB on sata 2 board with 280MB read and 272MB write, that's the max speed a sata 2 ssd can get.TRIM is enable only when you set it on win 7(even without achi),not the entire ssd.

Ps:Ts,pls look for post #77(page 4) to be include in the list.

QUOTE(Racerx @ Jan 26 2012, 10:37 AM)
Guys, would something like a Crucial M4 feel faster in real life situations compared to a Intel G2 ?
I was wondering whether the speed is noticeable or not since the M4 is about 2 times faster than the G2 in Crystaldiskmark
*
by right if using normally without breaking the benchmarks, G2 and M4 wont make any different as they r SSD and u will feel faster then conventional HDD
