thats the price before shipping rite? or where can i find that price in msia?
*

yep price before shipping but i'm just showing that RM4XX as claimed earlier is possible.
M4's price plunged down drastically recently maybe because of the 5200 hours issue.
altho they've fixed it with the latest firmware, consumer confidence has been lost.

newegg doesn't accept Malaysian credit card, so best way is to find a US friend to grab it for you.

For warranty, you can just deal straight with Crucial.

if samsung 830 120gb vs intel 520 ssd 120gb
the price difference is only RM60
which 1 to get?
samsung 1 faster in overall while intel faster in sequential
samsung 3 years warranty intel 5 years

i dont really need the norton ghost and bracket offer by samsung

damn sad...i think my 120GB OCZ Vertex 2 kong-ed. The other day I just power up my rig and then all of a sudden it couldn't load the Boot OS. BIOS could not even detect the SSD except for my other 3 HDDs. Plug the SSD to another PC also can't be detected. All my important data was kept inside there. Looks like it's dead.

I did some reading on other tech forums and it seems like i'm not alone on this but so far there's no other remedy but to RMA it. Anyone faced similar issues before? I'm still hesitating to RMA for the moment coz still finding ways to revive it and hopefully can retrieve my data.

Not quite, actually the 520 is faster than the 830 on overall terms.
Honestly if it's only RM60, I'd go with the 830 for now eventhough Intel took their time to polish up the SF firmware and so far after over a month, there hasn't been problems yet.

really? intel faster in overall? do u mean the 256gb?
but i am only targeting the 120gb 1
it is only RM60 difference in my place, with 2 years more warranty
maybe i shall observe the intel 520 for awhile more
while waiting the price to drop again XD

Not worth waiting for a price drop. That 830 will provide 95% of the 520's value. And after three years, 120GB SSD prices will likely be cut to at least 50% to 25%, which should be quite affordable and we assume that your 830 dies by then. Furthermore, unless Intel bothers to react to the market, I am not expecting them to change their price significantly in the next couple of months.

I'd recommend getting an SSD now, so that you may fall in love with it and agree that getting your first SSD now (when there is no expected price drops or market correction) is much better than getting it a few months down the line. This statement only applies for your first SSD. Once you have lost your SSD virginity, it is acceptable to be conservative because subsequent SSDs will likely not be as life changing as your first one.

hi very much thanks for ur input
i previously own a corsair f60 but it dead twice
after secure erase, it is now working "temporary"
i dont know when will it die again
so i plug it into laptop instead
my pc windows in on samsung spinpoint f3 now
but i dont know why it is very slow and keep hang
maybe becoz i was addicted to ssd speed?
but it seems like my f3 have bad sector now, it crashes completely when i open certain folder

i have been monitoring the ssd price
and recently it drop by almost RM40 in just few days
i may as well as wait for few more weeks

anyway
if samsung 830 and intel 520 is almost on par
RM60 for extra 2 years warranty isnt a steal?
