You honestly won't go wrong with either.
That 5 years warranty sure is a good deal for peace of mind.

Only reason I'm still somewhat on the fence of the 520 is because that it is still a relatively new drive and eventhough Intel's reliability is legendary, I won't for one hop onto a new drive so quickly.
Atleast not for now, perhaps give it another 3 months to see the reactions from users.

That's just me of course.
If you're feeling confident (again, given that both Intel and Samsung's reliability record is the best in the industry), get the Intel 520.

It is so obvious that you already have the answer in your mind already.
Just that you need someone supportive enough to say out only.

I'm not saying that Intel is bad Samsung is better because I sell them.
Just why Intel keep rely on Sand Force whereas the controller itself already have problems for more than 9000 years?
I mean unless they came out something call Dust Force ke, Mud Force ke, and fix all the BSOD thingy, the problem will still there.
I personally think its the controller itself has problem, not the firmware.
So firmware patching is a lil bit susah to fix those problems.

Again, I'm not saying that Intel is bad Samsung is good because I sell them.
Intel has produce many great stuffs over 9000 years, and of course they faced their bad time as well.
What to do? Deal with it only.

Same question goes for processor, Intel or AMD?

If you already have an answer, go for it already regardless what's people thought.

If you wanna wait and observe, I think until Intel came out with some SATA 32Gbps drive, you still unable to get whatever you've asked/wanted.

No offense, just my two cents.

thanks for ur long reply
but seriously I still dont have an answer yet
honestly I would prefer the samsung 830, but the RM60 difference for extra 2 years warranty keep running in my head rclxub.gif
and there is not much samsung 830 vs intel 520 comparison in the net
most of them are comparing the 256gb version, which the price different is alot (around 150usd)
for the 120gb version, the price different is almost negligible, so I think I should focus more on the performance and reliability, since my f60 has failed me twice
again thanks for ur long explanation
but is SF controller really that bad?
then why could those vertex3, force 3 have sales figure too?

Whatever product, at whatever the price tag, with however the quality is, still got people willing to buy.

Doesn't matter if the comparisons were between 256gb or 128gb... they're really for benchmarks only.
128gb variants are slower yes, but on the same level playing field, the 128gb samsung 830 and intel 520 drives are just about as fast as each other, with the 520 perhaps eeking out a few wins here and there.

This should be the be-all, end-all review you need for Intel 520: http://www.anandtech.com/show/5508/intel-s...ty-to-sandforce

As for the reason why SF controller was so bad, because it just is.
It was rushed out to the market, it was hyped over the fact of having ridiculous transfer speeds -- this is the same when Intel went addicted over achieving the highest clock speeds for the Pentium 4 CPUs--.
Vertex 3, Force 3, Force GT, Agility 3... all these SF drives has strong sale figures because they were the first out of the gate when the SF-2200 controller arrived.
They simply oblirated the entire field of current SSDs during then, it was FAST.
But what people didn't expect was that it is unreliable as heck.

Hope you get your idea now and come up with your own decission. smile.gif

I wonder why people still wanna order from oversea since Cyntrix price is quite interesting and provide local warranty. hmm.gif

M4 64GB:
Newegg - $105 ~ RM315 (not include shipping yet)
Cyntrix - RM349

RM34 difference with local warranty and instant stock, why not?

I using OSX Lion. So it is very easy and fast compare to Windows PC.
I use Carbon Copy Cloner.

For Windows, I use EaseUS Partition Master Home Edition. Link: http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm

Cloning as in OS only, or whatever in that drive?
