Use drip method -> http://www.shrimpnow.com/content.php/258-A...matising-Shrimp
Its wise to invest in a TDS pen, as TDS play a big role in shrimps molting failure as GH.

yes , shrimps need calcium and iron, they can get it from food like spinach or supplement , human calcium tablets may not seem tasty for them and don't what else they add inside the tablets that may harm shrimps.
Shrimps food like benibachi golden food are high in calcium and protein.

Yellow shrimps are busy with spinach

2 fire red casualty this morning!  rclxub.gif COuld it be because they were from "luxury" home now to normal home?

Sis, I doubt it's coz of the so-called luxury home to ours. Sifu arrow has spoken...heed his advice smile.gif By the way, how long & how did you acclimate your shrimps before putting it in?

Usually how many shrimps can be kept in a 1ft planted tank?
When we bring back the shrimps from LFS, how to acclimate new shrimps before drop them into our tank?
*
I guess 1ft per se is a bit subjective, as it also depends on your tank water volume. As shrimp has very low bioload it's still ok. Had came across forums where they keep about 100+ in a 1ft cube, but of course also stated preferably less than that, just to have a 'better environment' for our shrimps. Then again, filtration & such also plays a role in how many shrimps we can keep. I'm no expert, just passing on info from what I've read on d net.

As for acclimating my shrimps, I bought a cheap 3m clear tubing @ RM1.50, an an adjustable plastic valve @ RM0.30. Set it to drip 1-1.5dps...did 1 1/2hr for my malayans & 2hrs for the fire reds (wanted longer but had to go out). Think timing depends on the shrimps' sensitivity. Touch wood only 1 casualty, didn't call to ask so I presume all are still fine.

In a way, I'm hoping to break common beliefs that each shrimp has to be kept at certain parameters & breed properly. Well let's hope I succeed. Only time will tell *fingers crossed* smile.gif

Same as mine, those are Limpet snails.
To kill those i use C-SKY Snails Killer , shrimps safe if follow dose. But need to repeat few times as some snail eggs will hatch later.
At the end i just let it be. Occasionally squeeze some as snack for my shrimplets. tongue.gif
