few months ago, i receive a postcard from pos malaysia stating that i should use my address in the same format as stated in the postcard to ensure that "the letters are delivered quickly, accurately and smoothly"

are they very particular on this? if the sender wrote my address in a slightly different format, would my letter or parcel not be delivered at all?

Yes, you should use the recommended format because that to make sure your letter can be sorted correctly. Pos Malaysia is using machine to sort it, so the sequence is important. Only some rejected and unreadable by machine will be sorted manually.

Anyway, this is Poslaju thread, I think Poslaju still use manual. Pos and Poslaju is using different centre to process their item.

my friend sent item saturday(28.12.2013) . but why i not received yet today and the tracking number still 'Consignment posted over the counter' .

Saturday after 2 or 3 pm? Only today parcel will move out if your friend sent at normal post office.

even though i (along with my family) was definitely at home the whole day (does the time stated specifically refer to the time when the postman reach our house?)

since tomorrow is public holiday, i want them to resend it on Thursday, do i need to call them to arrange it? or will they automatically resend it on the next working day?

if i need to call, then when should i call? Thursday morning? any cutoff time since postman left office at morning right?

also, which number should i call? the customer service (1-300-300-300)? or should i call straight to Pos Laju Puchong? (where my parcel is currently held at)

EDIT: nvm, parcel arrived this morning, apparently they have got too many parcels to send out this morning that they cannot made it in time, so they have to work OT on this public holiday to send it out

Want to ask, how to become contract customer with poslaju? Is there any benefits? I can't find any details in their website. I sometimes have parcel to post twice a week or less depending on customers so if is it possible for them to come to my place when I call them instead of them coming everyday?

Guys, what is the limit that will get charged by custom clearance if I import some hobby things from Japan?

I always heard is RM500 but when I bought something from HLJ.com last time which only RM195 inclusive shipping cost, it was kenak tahan by my local poslaju at Miri, Sarawak.

The parcel was checked by KL that part and success.

When I asked the custom guy in charge, he said Sarawak different case.
Cannot exceed RM200 else will get charged by 10% if it is Hobby stuff.
I wonder is he trying to con me or not so I wanna get some proof here first so next round when I purchased less than RM500, I can show him.

Hi. I ordered an item from Japan at 17/12/13 and shipped using AirMail (this method doesn't include tracking) and until today my item hasn't arrive. I called PosMalaysia and they say they can only check with a tracking number. The site I purchased from recommend me to say the item, my address, sender address, etc. When I told them that, they say 'such services doesn't exist'. I stressed them about this method of checking but they still refuse nevertheless...

What should I do?
Should I just walk to the Post Office and show my IC Card?
I'm planning to go the the Post Office tomorrow to possibly settle this situation?

If there's no tracking number, you can't do anything about it. Showing I/C to the post office won't help you at all, there's nothing they can do about it. Of course they.. refuse to search your 1 mail in their 1000 bulks of mail for you... not exactly 1000 but you know what i mean, just wait them to sort it out. If your parcel is there, they'll get it to you.

By the way, what did you purchased from Japan? maybe it got stucked at the customs, next time use the EMS service ( pay more but worth it, bought my item from Japan on 31/12... still not yet come but at least I know where is it ^.^ see above)
Anyway, you just have to wait..4 weeks is usually maximum, if it never comes.. either seller didn't ship, or the item is lost on the way (stolen)
