Given time and for the well being of its own people, China will be able to
standardize all the nests that sell in mainland, Hong Kong and Macau. Not the
double standard we are seeing as of now. When RMB becomes world reserve
currency, China phases out Hong Kong and Macau currency and China is no longer pursuing one country, two systems policy. Just my WAG!

Prices do drop but buyers are starting to replenish stocks after full moon festivals..fr buyers we heard the sales do drop but ppls still buying but they asked a lot before buying n only buy from known suppliers. But we are not liked last time where supply is cannot catch up with demand...it used to 50% supply ...

And demand for lower grade bn is more than full cup..if short of money to pay loan,maybe can sell corner or half cup first n keep full cup.


That's fr my limited info.

But things will start to get worst just like kohloh said if we let all bullshits to materialise....do ur part,don't wait for someone else to do ...we are all alone. If u wait for someone n someone wait for somebody....n tht somebody have other thinking n goals....

Why feed swiftlets when we now don't have enough to feed ourselves.

I'm disillusioned, why support any swiftlet association when the heads of these associations who are supposed to help promote the industry are probably the very ones who are effing us !

this is what happen in any association.... the head is always someone who is influencial, instead of helping fellow citizen, they took the best bite, then left the bones, then show the world that this bone is what he had done for us.....

Why feed the swiftlets when they are suppose to be wild and aren't we trying to domesticate these free birds.

Feeding them with these food will be just a start and very soon if this feeding is successful, we will think of using steroid or antibiotic and what you can think of to make these poor bird bigger and eat more and most probable additives that will make them excrete more and more saliva until such time, they will now really excrete blood!!!!!!

To lure the birds to your BH; that I agree to cos when you maybe able to draw the birds to your empty BH to seriously consider your BHs to be a good place to stay or when time are bad like during monsoon time, feeding these birds may help the chicks to remain healthy and alive due to the fact that the parent birds need not venture too far insearch of food, thus failling in time to return to feed and the chicks so die.

Like all sanctuaries for wild animals, we feed them only when time are seriously bad and never otherwise......cos, we will be creating a new swiftlet specie that will depend on us for food and the nest so created will be the end result of what we feed and that's terrible and unforgiving to even think of it.....similar to man made EBN.

Like all wild animals, nature will decide how many birds it can support and we can only help by creating a better environment for the insects to breed and nice comfort home to stay.........

We want our voices to be heard and so far, our federal Association isn't doing it very well. We want to be able to export our organic nests as it is but our govt. is doing the opposite, preventing the export of natural nests and only allow the processed nests to be exported. Even that, they are dragging their feet and meanwhile, many new BH owners will die and surely, my old friends and I will survive but badly wounded, too.

Really, there is no official price for EBN here and it's everybody guess; today, a buyer may come and offer RM2200 but next day, someone will tell you that his friend just sold EBN @ Rm1500/Kg and who do you believe. All BH owners are so scare but none will admit and tell.

Oh, imagine how many months have we suffered and how many more months must we suffer. Just my words of sorrow to share with friends here.

Its really a very bad situation... but nothing much individual farmers can do but to maintain the farms so as to produce more and better quality nests until prices finally rebound above this unprecedented low level.

Control the nests to better quality will fetch u a better price...maybe extra 50 ringgits...tht s a lot of money to ordinary farmers liked me....enough to pay a week of petrol....as nowadays....don't even dare to go far or even go out as when look at pocket....can't even find a 50 notes..

Those tht have special permit to export to china gain the most as they can buy bird nests from us at low prices now n sell at the same price in china.

Imagine they buy rm1.500 a kilo n sell at rm12,000 a kilo....they makes millions from just selling few hundreds kilo....that's the figure fr one of the leader of this industry...envy him......

Need to spread out news of memorandum to pm....so tht we can gather all farmers signatures in few weeks time...any cares to do some volunteer works to approach farmers n explain the memorandum to them n gather signatures from all those tht affected by bn industry. This activity have advisers fr leading trade associations....

I will sign it n will encourage all my farmer friends to do the same..

Remember that's our only hope now....before we go to the extreme peacefully to protests......make sure call us when the organiser do decide to protest.

I hope lowyatt forumers will support it too....

we invested wat we think is safe but not all think its,,like u built a big bh in a pcs of land u buy in platation area lets say cheap cheap all in u invested $500k n wait long long fr result meaby it will durian runtuh a 25kg monthly fr u but fr me i think like now wit $500k i can easly buy 200kg super grad &clean & market(if u got la) tat brings a clean $100,000 monthly($500/kg) & i work hard to market i can double my investment in jus 6month,,,,tat is wat in paper la but in real life is diffrent ma,,,,,wat i see in tis industrail e hardest is marketing as 1 have to invest many $$&time to gain expreance as me r lucky to knew many tata willing to guide tru e years.Some who know me us to sell of bh when wit result &even guide few of my members to do so but tat jus ny point of view...

No wonder that once, my friend who has an outlet in China telling that just by selling 2 Kilo per month is already OK and anything more will be bonus....and during the good time, I believe that they don't have problem selling 2 Kilo per days........just you imagine the profit these merchant make and now, we the farmer suffer because these greedy merchant aren't satisfied with 29 days of profit and wanted much more. If you know the Chinese well, you will know that Chinese buy in bulk unlike us. we buy in gms. Just by following a Chinese for shopping and you shall see why as I did follow one China man @ Pearl Point KL and observe the following. He asked the salesgirl to show the color of the shirt he liked and when the salesgirl bought him all the color, he told the lady to pack all the colors. Go to any part of the world, now it's Chinese buyers and if you are a chinese and speak mandarin, you shall be treated like VVIP. Even in ITALY and if you been to LV outlet in HK, you will see those waiting in line to go into the store and buy are all Chinese but China type only with exception of the 2, me and my friend on window shopping only.

If we can make them feel safe taking our nest, then we shall have no problem in making our fortune......but never the way our govt. wanted; just to make a few billionaires.

Now, the authorities in China should bring all these crooks in China and put them behind bar instate of making us suffer for their crime.

If the upcoming rally is the truth, the Ajib Ko need to be informed of this and if he come forward to solve the problems facing us, then there shall no longer be necessary for any protest of any sort. We are not going to make it into a political show to enable opposition party to gain mileage but rather we wish to survive and be allow to sell our EBN at reasonable price without some much nonsense here and there and we are still in the middle of the ocean with no land in the horizon plus those guys just wanting this and that...like the V-kursus that I attended over 5 times and now, back to square one. Now, RFID and more useless requirements that really make you sick and before you know, you already die of heart attack.

If we have to show our displeasure and anger, then we shall and we do it only because we have to and not we want to........for our future and our families.

Why rushing suddenly? Rally with just two weeks notice....btw, why none of the associations inform members n u think u can group enough ppls with such short notice?
Heard they have collected rm120k so far...how much they needed?

soemtime I wonder igf joining such association is ever useful to us or just another platform for the cronies to gain power???
