Not sure FFM will be back on astro. I remember AXN Beyond preview back in January 2009, we have to wait almost two years (30th August 2010) to watch it again. And it suck big time because its only available on HD and it is Malaysian feed (Axn beyond asia programmes combined with SET Asia). So tired watching desperate housewife rerun yawn.gif

Yeah, why they can provide subtitles to fiesta HD but not to other channels.

I think ANTM is aired using 4:3 ratio, u will get the same two black bars at the sides on downloaded copies as well.

Atleast all FIC (fox international channels) HD channel showed correct version of 4:3 programme. smile.gif Other HD channel would just 4:3 stretch. sweat.gif

guys. i have some questions about the pvr functions. i called astro and their answer is this:

if i subscribe to astro super packs (RM125) i will get the pvr functionality with no additional RM10/month charge for pvr functions.

i can upgrade to a PVR decoder for RM300 or i can buy a WD Passport AV 500GB external HDD and hook it up to the B.yond decoder and i can record 2 channels simultaneously and at the same time watch another channel. basically i get the same functions of the PVR decoder.

can anyone confirm this, coz i've been reading the thread and it seemed that only WD Passport AV 320GB (not the 500GB) is compatible and you can only record the channel that you're watching...

please help. thanks!

Just get the PVR decoder. I think the promotional price is still ongoing at Rm150. It has wider recording functions, bigger hard disc space and might be cheaper than the external HD.

Bro...SuperPack 1 (RM125) comes with pvr &external HDD service. Its automatic u cannot change, the reason that they give is because their internal pvr HDD is out of stock & u have to buy your own external HDD. I called them to clariry me on this when apllied for byond last week.

Sony Entertainment TV (AXN, One etc.) should be M&A'ed by FOX to make their showing 4:3 programme in correct ratio. So as HBO...

The normal Byond Decoder (w/o internal HDD) can only record 1 program at a time, as it does not have dual tuner.

The Byond PVR with dual tuner & internal HDD needs to pay RM300 for installation fee. The RM150 promo fee is over... Now stock for Byond PVR device is near zero.

Thanks guys for your replies. It seems like the best option is still the PVR Decoder as it has dual tuner. Such a shame that the PVR Decoder promo of RM150 ended 30 Nov 2011. It's now back to the original price of RM300 and it's running outta stock too... sad.gif

Yup, the HD quality got nothin to do with ur dish size or color. It depends on your decoder ability. As long as the dish can catch the signal the decoder will work just fine.
