Superpacks are already included the recording services as above quote.

Depends whether your decoder is PVR or non PVR.

laugh.gif The fees is the same whether you use PVR or non PVR decoder. Only difference is when changing to PVR decoder must pay extra RM150, if I am not wrong.

Non PVR is the small and less button on the decorder rite? Internal one got lots of button rite...
*
and also, i believe internal one has the wording PVR on the right hand side of the decoder's front panel.

So in conclusion, all Superpack subcribers are already paying for the recording service, its just that we don't have the necessary hardware to perform the recording...

edit: anybody selling Western Digital My Passport AV320GB ? biggrin.gif

Any model will do, i just don't want to see lousy PQ when our TV resolution is too high compare to the source resolution.
Less than 3K can get both a home theatre system and HDTV? Branded some more?
My concern is i just don't want a TV which is only good for blue ray movie, while watching Astro it gives a crappy PQ on normal channel.
*
Its a decided fact astro goes perfectly well on CRT's! No matter how good our tv is Astro's PQ sucks and is crappy so its best dont use astro to compare our tvs! cool2.gif

Pls dun b angry, Bro... icon_rolleyes.gif
Services are there shld yu need it and by taking the Superpack, yu are actually saving oledi! tongue.gif

And Astro's offer of 1-time payment of RM150 for its PVR unit is so much cheaper than buying yr own HDD which is only 320Gb compared to PVR built-in 500Gb!!
More savings...? whistling.gif

Yr choice... icon_rolleyes.gif

Frankly I dun kno why there are users who find Astro SD prgs of crappy PQ. doh.gif

Personally, since upgrading to Superpack3 plus Byond PVR, even SD shows appear 2b better than when using old decoder! Those that I watch...on same "HD Ready" 32" LED TV... thumbup.gif

So possibly shld not use too large displays cos PQ wld b affected? tongue.gif

hmm.gif Good question. I think no because the sim card is tied to the particular decoder only.

I just email astro CS to ask regarding subtitle on HD channels. This is their answer sad.gif

QUOTE
Greetings from Astro!

Please be informed that we understand the importance of subtitles for our customers. However, not all programmes in High Definition (HD) are able to have subtitles option at the moment due different caption system used by the content and channel providers.

High definition is still a relatively new system. Just like the transition from black and white television broadcast to colour television broadcast, it will take a little while more before we get to a stage where subtitles can be programmed uniformly.

Nevertheless, we are working towards addressing this issue with our HD content and channel providers. To this end, we ask for your kind understanding and we apologies for the inconvenience caused by this shortcoming.

I also like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family this season’s greetings and happy holiday.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Sincerely

I find that the Astro site is lacking on information regarding T&C promotions, additional decoder or decoder upgrades. Instead of spending lots of bucks making an advertisement about a robot in HD, they should first improve their FAQ section to resolve many confusion and queries for us new and existing subscribers.

I think it is possible. If I'm not wrong, one of my friend manage to install the 2nd decoder at his parent's home but must be registered under the same name as the first decoder.
