Just got mine about a week back. Haven't noticed any orb turning out in my pics yet. Will try to take note of that first. Well, if we don't have the orb issue does it mean we can't replace the sensor?
*
All X10 can produce orbs regardless of serial numbers until they stick a new sensor into
the camera in may. I am sure they will rename it then. Actually daytime easier to get
orbs due to low iso selected. Snap photos of cars parked under the sun in the
afternoon and view those sun glare spots at 100% (press main command dial) in the
camera lcd and you will surely see them. Normal viewing size they are hard to see.

Anyone knows if the X10 orb defect is also experienced with X100?

No. Only X10 & XS-1 since it's the same sensor. X100 has some other issues i think. Try check their thread.

Also, sensor blooming happens in all camera. Just that it's so much easier to get it with the X10. Still, it happens to some people though not all.

ya, its not on their site.
i walked into their PJ outlet a few weeks back and saw it there.

and iirc, original x10 hood YL was selling at RM130.
this one also not on their site...so whoever is updating it is probably lazy.

if u use the viewfinder, then the JJC apparently blocks more cos doesnt line up properly.
i dont both use filter or hood for such a small camera anyway.
plus with the hood on, you cannot put the camera flat on a table.

Oh... i'm in Melaka so more convenient looking at Shashinki catalog. tongue.gif

Plus i compared between those 2 sites. Some stuffs are cheaper on Shashinki and some are cheaper on YL like the EF-20 flash.

Looking for a spare battery. How much is it at YL?

Eh? It seems to be flat for me unless you're using a huge hood like this. ohmy.gif

dunno about spare batt, cos i got extra one added into the package when i got my x10.

shooting RAW+JPG is what most ppl who want to use b&w will do.
so u set the color the b&w, which means the jpg come out b&w...but later if u want the color version u still have the RAW file to work with.

It's 175 on Shashinki. EF-20 flash is kinda expensive for it's size. ._.

I see. Was watching RAW vs JPEG video on Youtube. So i thought heck, why not try it out.

EF-20 iirc YL offered it for RM420.
the build quality is similar to the 3rd party ones like nissin with plastic hotshoe.
then again its suppose to be a sunpak rebranded, so not surprised.

anyway if u dont need bounce flash, the build-in x10 flash actually does a pretty decent job at throttling its output to match the scene, so u dont get as many hotspots.

Guys,

U all using the bundled strap? There is a small piece of leather which has a hole that goes into the pin at the camera right? My camera dropped twice today because of that damn piece of leather. It just keep slipping out, luckily I was using the original casing, nothing happened.

Perhaps time to get another strap with a different type of connector.

i dont even know what the bundled strap is like, all still in the plastic wrappers.
i straight away went and looked for an optech, which is what i use for my DSLR also.
so yea, using this - http://optechusa.com/cam-strap-qd.html

Added on March 22, 2012, 7:43 pmbtw, u talking about the neck strap right?
how did u hook it in? doesnt sound like its put properly to me.

i dont use neck straps for small cameras anyway, kinda overkill.

Added on March 22, 2012, 7:48 pmbtw, that small piece of leather is just to protect the body from the metal parts of the clip.
its not suppose to hold the strap in anyway...

Look at the pic joseph posted up there. The pic after the mosque. See the leather piece there? The strap will go in btw it.

Attached Image

I was using the black strap that came together earlier on, no problem hanging or whatsoever, but once i got the leather case I changed and the leather piece came out a few times which caused my double fall today.

looks like some ppl didnt read the manual, cos that strap doesnt look like its going thru the small metal triangle, and that is the piece thats suppose to hold the strap.
that small leather piece just on the sides to protect the body from that small metal triangle.

Get Sunpak RD2000.

Fuji just rebrand sunpak and sell it at higher price.

Value for money and pretty decent tho.

I looked at the site it's 448, 50 cheaper than Shashinki.

Yeah it is decent. Only problem is i have to take the hood off if i want to use the flash.

I've searched for it. It is cheaper but you won't be able use TTL with it right? Since the contact is slightly different even though the rest looks the same.
