Wah, the shop lost someone that really good in customer service, and have a wide knowledge ....

I still remember got one staff bloody damn fking cocky.
It was almost 3 years back...
when I buy mp3 player(which is not popular yet that time)
I only go SRI buy cheapo stuff such as cable(if couldnt find in ALLIT)

When I bought my pc about 2 years ago, I went to the shop next door to sri and the counter guy was really friendly, asking me what specs I wanted and recommending based on my budget.

Then I went to Sri, thinking they'd let me choose the specs and I'll get to compare the price. The counter guy was some fat dude with long fingernails, think he was digging his nose or something. He didn't even ask me what specs did I want after I told him I wanted to buy a desktop, he just circled the items in the price list and totalled up the price for me acting like his choices would definitely be better than mine...then just looked at me and said "so?want or not?" with a cocky look. It was then I decided never to buy from them >_>

I wonder why those IT guys in lowyat especially those sales or technical guy there so lylc (not everyone lahhh.... ). If you really you just working in this small shoppping center. Come one, who are you?

Not even lowyat only, myself was from ipoh, seem many of those IT guys or technical guy also having some weird attidute. I remember there is a time, on behalf of my friend i bring the PC to Redcom( A computer shop in yik foong), technical guy there don't even know the existing of windows 2000 professional. They told me there is no W2k Pro...what they installed to me W2k server
-speechless- hey...comon sense end user, home user usually use w2k pro la. I already did mention w2k PRO.

Opss too much of stories....back to this SRI comp. No doubt they got lots of funny, weird stuff or accessorie can be found. But pricing i cannot accept lo. hmmm.....i will go back to compuzone really. i love compuzone. good services. good manners.

Nope, only the processor and ram, which is more expensive. Others like graphic card and stuff he simply recommend cheap stuff..

Actually, just insisted the spect you want. I once ask at Atom the spect I want. The sales person change the whole spect for me. And of course, pricing range is much much higher.

Just research or ask around on the net before you went to buy stuff. If we ask the sales person for sure most will give spec which quoted at higher price. Save you time and give you less headache dealing with "i-know-all" sales person.

like if u want to buy 512mb ram@pendrive, they will persuade u to buy 1gb..if 1gb, they recommend u to 2gb..and so forth..

usually push u to a very expensive brand.

Oooh imagine my gladness seeing this thread. So I wasn't the only one being treated like shit.

In general I hate to go to Lowyat coz the people there always make me feel small since I hardly know much about computer techie stuff. But then I had to go there coz it really is the best place to get all kinds of computer stuff. Among all, Sri Comp really gave me a lasting BAD impression. I believe being a female and not knowing much gave the sales guys a chance to bully me. I went to buy a new PC, lots of new hardware and coz I dunno much about it I asked them for opinions and advices, stupidly thinking that these people will be helpful but bahhh they just gave me the 'I'm mightier than thou' look to me and also did the circling circling thing on the prices and shoved them to me and when I asked about something I wasn't sure about, they gave me that very loud "HAHHH???!!!" And when my sis went to ask for the price of a wifi card, there's this very fair-skinned guy with quite long hair...he just gave her that LCLY gaze and didn't say anything and went back to EAT!!! This is so fu***** shitty. How would they feel if they went shopping and people treat them like that? I know they're pro in computers but they don't need to be so arrogant. And there was even another time I thought approaching a sales girl would be better but no shit...she's just as b****y as the guys.

You know, if anyone from Lowyat reading this now, I wanna say that it's not just guys who go to Lowyat to buy things and not only people who're good at computers can buy stuff there. Everyone is entitled to fair treatment and All IT Hypermarket gave me that comfortable feeling even if they want to keep my bag in the locker it's super mega fine compared to being treated like dumbass. I don't need someone to ruin my shopping mood. And if I like the shop and its services I would surely go back for more and tell other people.

i do believe many more got "special" treatments from sri comp and i did experienced it too long time ago. guess since that long time ago till today something still unchanged in sri comp. maybe it's common already, buying PC from sri comp must see the special LCLY services from them.

they just pretend to be knowledgeable and hustler when it coming to pc stuffs, while in fact they are more n00b and stupid than the customer..yes, they did that because thats their place, so they tot they got an authority..

solution : next time bring ur bf or frenz that know a few/lot about this stuffs..
at least with bringing them, ur chances of getting bullied is decreased..

I thought of that before which seems to be a good idea but I don't think it's the best solution. From reading the posts here, I think many who voiced out their disgust are men so I guess it doesn't really make things better. And can't always depend on guy friends right??

Anyway I've decided not to buy anything from Sri Comp. Maybe just to go in and take a look and check prices then go somewhere else to buy.
