First question has been asked & answered to death..yes puspakom then insurance finally jpj
Insurance must be purchased & active (with roadtax not exceeding the insurance coverage period) before JPJ will transfer the ownership.

Insurance cannot be transferred.

Ok. Thanks. Why the new owner cannot just use the insurance until up then renew under the person's name?

Different names. Unless you didnt change ownership & just add this new driver to the named driver for insurance.

Hi, would like to know what is the procedure of retain back car plate of total loss car to a 2nd car, because i want to buy secondhand car only..

just now went to JPJ to cancel my road tax as one of the document required by my insurance company for the total claim offer submission.

Insurance said just need to write in to them to retain the car plate and they will issue a letter to JPJ on this.

So kindly enlighten me how is the next procedure..thx

Is it possible for me to purchase a new car and transfer ncd from old car while old car is still with me? Insurance of old car is lower as it is a few years old. I would like to get the discount from the old to the new car.

NCD can be transferred, however the policy releasing the NCD has to be cancelled first.

If the car is with me, then I need to get another insurance as well? Or I can just let it be until I sell off the old car?

If you intended to continue using the vehicle on public roads, then it should be insured according to the law. But if otherwise, you can cancel the insurance & not renew if its not being used.

If old car, can just buy third party if still using OTR, cheap enough.

If old car third party but full discount, can transfer discount rate to new car first party? Then buy 3rd party insurance later on

hi quick question, i purchased a car from a private seller and I have fully paid to him the agreed selling amount but now he refuse to complete the transfer.
Can I change the ownership of the car to my name without him?
The car has zero debt, I got the car and original car title with me.

Why in the world did you hand the money over without changing name.

To my knowledge, No, you cant transfer ownership without current owner's thumbprint.

Be careful, he may report the car stolen.

Hi.

I have heard recently that the puspakom rulling has been changed from 1 month to 6 months. Not sure if it is in effect or not. Does anyone know?

Secondly, just wondering how many days does it take to transfer ownership of vehicle from myself to third party? Everything, including puspakom, jpj, insurance. Myself and buyer will need to take holiday to settle this.

Hi guys, I have a situation here :

I'm selling my car to a foreigner and he is cash buying the car and I do not owe bank any loan. May I know what are the exact procedure for now year 2017?

1. What are the different selling car to a foreigner and not Malaysian?

2. What are the documents for the foreign buyer required?

3. I will need to cancel the roadtax and insurance before he can purchase new insurance?

4. What happen if I cancel my insurance (55%) NCD in it and I havent buy my new car yet?

5. Will my NCD still available after I cancel it on existing car and transfer it to my new car month later? (Assuming I manage to find a new car after 1-2months later which I havent found any new car yet)

6. What are the procedures for buying/and selling process to a foreigner ? Should I collect full payment before transfer ownership?(Worry scam case)

Hope any master can help me out with this. Cheers

hi i have read all the 24 pages but could not find what i wanted ?? i bought a car cash from a foreign student in year 2014 but did not do a name transfer as the student was busy with exams that time but suddenly he left studies went back without informing .

I have the car , the payment voucher he signed , the original registration card (old type) and the car road tax i renewed every year and as the 3rd party insurance is in his name i bought a personal policy for me from BSN.

The question is ?? will jpj allow me to change the car to my name ?? i am willing to pay runner if they can do it. The foreign student cannot be contacted at all.

My other question is if i can get the new registration card (small) without the actual named owner coming to jpj ?? as the ruling to get the new one will end Jan 2020 so i guess if i don't get it then i cannot renew road tax anymore after 2020.

So i am in a predicament.. bangwall.gif
tq
