Option 1 is to go to the insurance company and cancel the old insurance which is under your name and wait for the refund to be sent to you. Another option is to request you new insurer to do the cancellation for you.

in order for everyone to have their car in their own name.
here is the procedure.
go through puspakom inspection for B5 form (JPJ required)..rm30.(please make booking or you will queue like crazy)
than go to jpj and fill in jpjk3 form, both owner need to be present on the counter for  bio thumprint and a fees of transfer..rm100 +roadtax(rmXX  depends on cc)
make sure everyone has their own insurance as the jpj required it to create the reprint new roadtax.

for more info:search for "Panduan Tukar Hakmilik Secara Sukarela" in jpj website.

if you are lazy to get involve in the process, than you can hire 3th party runner for the process....about rm200-250 per serivce/ car,the price is excluding the fees inquired at jpj.

in terms of tinted, really depend on luck...mine passed it with flying colour without peeling it.here is the result

just go to any car accessories shop and ask whether they have the tools to check tint, someone of them may have and they charge rm10-30 per scan. But i recommend you go to the more reputable tint ,because there will be higher chance of they owning a unit because they frequently use it as a selling point and test in front of customer to sell their tinted as jpj legal.

if your car is standard ,usually will pass easily. Unless it is so obvious mods on the car , than it may be otherwise.

Hello guys. Can I check, if the car seller is selling to a buyer who is taking a hire purchase loan, how does the seller ensure that he will be paid after doing the name transfer at JPJ? This is assuming the B5 and B7 was done prior to that.

Speaking from what I think and will be going through next week, the transfer at JPJ is to the bank as the hire purchase rightful owner will be the bank.

Bank will release the fund right after the completion of name transfer.

You mean the name of owner is the bank? Who will be doing the transfer at JPJ?

You will need to bring the B5 and B7 Puspakom result together when visiting JPJ as the owner and the buyer to do the name transfer.

Thanks for the info. Lastly, when i transfer the ownership to the buyer whom is buying with a Hire Purchase Loan, which form do I fill in? From Googling, there is K3A Form and Form K3. We will also be going to JPJ separately.

Hi all, some help please:

1) Sold my car. No bank loan oustanding, cash purchase.
2) Puspakom done. Got B5 "lulus" in hand.
3) Buyer is from different state. Ask me go JPJ first, and then he will go on his side to complete the transfer.

I have not done this in many years. Please advise if correct:

1) I go JPJ with JPJK3 form. Fill in my details and buyer's details.
2) Submit form with geran and do biometric fingerprint verification.
3) Pay fee.
4) Send all documents to buyer by courier, then he goes to JPJ to do the same thing.
5) Transfer finished.

Is this correct?

EDIT: One thing I don't understand is that the JPJk3 form ask for signature of buyer. How is he supposed to sign if in different state?
