I want to sell my car to another person. The person is paying me monthly without loan. So first puspakom, b5 form only right?
Then JPJ tukar nama. Does the person need to make insurance immediately or can use current insurance? Can I transfer the insurance to the person? The person has never had a car and this will be the person first car

QUOTE(Chrix @ Sep 16 2017, 09:51 AM) First question has been asked & answered to death..yes puspakom then insurance finally jpj Insurance must be purchased & active (with roadtax not exceeding the insurance coverage period) before JPJ will transfer the ownership. Insurance cannot be transferred. Ok. Thanks. Why the new owner cannot just use the insurance until up then renew under the person's name?

Is it possible for me to purchase a new car and transfer ncd from old car while old car is still with me? Insurance of old car is lower as it is a few years old. I would like to get the discount from the old to the new car.

QUOTE(Chrix @ Sep 21 2017, 01:25 PM) NCD can be transferred, however the policy releasing the NCD has to be cancelled first. If the car is with me, then I need to get another insurance as well? Or I can just let it be until I sell off the old car?

QUOTE(Chrix @ Sep 21 2017, 02:56 PM) If you intended to continue using the vehicle on public roads, then it should be insured according to the law. But if otherwise, you can cancel the insurance & not renew if its not being used. If old car, can just buy third party if still using OTR, cheap enough. If old car third party but full discount, can transfer discount rate to new car first party? Then buy 3rd party insurance later on

Hi.
I have heard recently that the puspakom rulling has been changed from 1 month to 6 months. Not sure if it is in effect or not. Does anyone know?
Secondly, just wondering how many days does it take to transfer ownership of vehicle from myself to third party? Everything, including puspakom, jpj, insurance. Myself and buyer will need to take holiday to settle this.
