all 0.05% higher than I reported. Sorry if my info. was misleading. I get the interest rate through the UOB counter lady when I carried out my transaction at the counter.

Bro, the UOB FD interest rates you reported were correct for this week (16 - 20July). But effective next week, i.e. 23rd July, UOB increasing the rates by 0.05%. I guess many must be withdrawing they money and go deposit with OCBC or HLB and as such UOB had to made some adjustments to be competitive.

No. You can't. I tried this before and upliftment of FD done online can only be done through the same channel.

Somehow i missed this reply of yours when i made the reply to you post. Anyway, I tried to withdraw my e-FD through my home branch last time but it was not possible. This was 2  or 3 years ago. Yeah. A long time ago  sweat.gif  Let us know if you can withdraw your e-FD at your home branch.

By the way, home branch refers to your account holding branch. Just go back to the branch where you opened your savings or current account at.

Yes, most if not all banks have this rule.

U could have just uplift online at home then go to the branch to buy Cashier's Order...apa susah sangat? doh.gif

Thanks guys for the reply. I guess I will just not be stingy with the banker's cheque fee, going to home branch will cost me more.

Looks like banks are starting to churn out new promos. 3.65% for 12 months by UOB so far looks good with no complicated step-up terms and no CASA required, unlike OCBC and HLB. Thumbs up.

Guys,

Just to share 2 things:

1. I just uplifted my OCBC FD but was not charged anything for a banker's cheque & I am not a priority banking customer.

2. AM Bank priority banking is having a promo FD of 3.65% for 6 months. I think minimum is RM 50,000.

Quick one guys. If the FD maturity date is 25th July, the withdrawal can be made on 25th or 26th without losing the interest?

It is not that confusing after talking to the officer at the branch. 5%p.a. A great offer indeed. thumbup.gif
I only visited the branch once to open account and bank in my cheque. They send my FD slips by mail. rclxms.gif
