Hehe, I'm out of the game, today last day, didn't read properly, no time to do today/weekday.

Anyway, didn't have much confidence either from the start due to the "requirement" for level 2. Just do what I can.

Yesterday I tried shooting in lowlight, not very low light, the camera seems refuse to use slow shutter, even it's already under-expose. I adjust EV + 2, also no difference, still dark. I guess it hit it's minimum shutter speed, which is still quite fast to compensate some shake.
Got good and bad, less blur shot, like iPhone, and makes people think it's fast like iPhone.

Well I guess no light trail shot for this one..

What can we expect from a camera phone right? This is good enough

Yup, actually no point using slow shutter for phone which end up with blurry shots; If needed slow shutter, it can give another preset for it.

Personally, I prefer this over N8, shooting indoor lowlight on kids, you need faster shutter speed and easy to capture/fast. N8 has been more of a 'trouble' to capture the 'moment' and it's slow and "sort of" harder to use. The N9 somehow works better or more "efficient". The difference in quality, it's really much unless you go into the details, pixel peep, etc. In this scenario, capturing the moment and ease of use is more preferred.
I guess that's why iPhone were preferred by many, as it's easy to use (simple) and it's fast and smooth.

But N8 has a physical camera button. How different is the operation between physical and soft button? I think the physical button reduce possible shake, no? In terms of speed won't the physical button be faster to whip out and operate?

So far I'm ok with touch button..not much different since it can still 'half focus' like the big guns and compact

It depends what type of scene you are taking. For close up yes physical button is better. For other short of cours touch is faster

N8 is slower, nto sure how to explain, try it.

N9 is something like iPhone, when you snap, it quickly let's you snap again, iPhone got nice "shutter" animation, while N9 got this picture sliding/warping effect (not sure what is the effect called).

Physical Camera button is nice, you can also use on screen button anyway; but it loves to use slower shutter, so often you'll get shake/blur in lowlight, must hold steady and the object must be still (unless you adjust the settings). Most people using camera phone, just take out, point and shoot. So in this case, the camera that is easier and performs better would be preferred than those which you need to keep adjust this and that.

Not gonna post today, no time; was planning to do on the weekend at first. So far, nothing done yet.

Anwyay, will still post my review, but I'll not be in the competition. Besides, I prefer the 64Gb and was planning to get one anyway.

Ok, it is exactly 1 hour to go and my phone is showing "battery low".

So it is 2.5 days again (short or of exactly 1 hour). smile.gif

You should join in. You like Maemo so much. I think it does not matter 16 or 64GB now cos there are nothing much to install until the mass porting happen. Try your luck.

I'm not joining...

I put videos, musics, 16GB definitely not enough, the actual User Data space available only around 9GB, that's even more less.

I won't be joining since I don't have time for it anyway, but still will continue my plan for the review. Just a small contribution anyway.

You mean N9 has less shutter lag?

There's one type of shot which only only physical button can do - the self shot. Maybe, just maybe, someone may produce an app to map the volume buttons to zoom in/out and the power button to snap.

Here's a camera comparison between N8 and N9 in gsmarena. Of course we already know the answer.

Erm, is the photo quality of N9 that bad? It is all blur. I think the person who took the shots didn't know how to use the AF feature?

Probably the colour and quality, N8 is very much better but the sharpness couldn't be that much different...
