Root will not improve batt life but it gives you possibility to tweak your device which may or may not lead to slightly better batt life. G model got no custom rom at the moment.

rooting ur phone only gives you root access, and lets you use apps like titanium backup(to backup apps), adsfree(to block ads in those free market apps) and many more. it doesnt improve battery.

let's start from the G ver. stock 2.3.5 rooted rom firz

Pro's- very good battery life, buttery smooth UI once u updated to the DZKI1 f.w, battery temp won't rise fast, seems like a new proximity sensor cos when u switch off the light in a dark room u'll notice some glowing in red at the proximity sensor hole,
*
i have the non-G and it glows red as well when the sensor is in use.

try to do factory reset and see if still got serious drain, if no, then it must be one of ur apps.

yeah just go to settings about phone and battery usage, take a screenshot, then click the top where there is a graph, and take a screenshot. consider getting betterbatterystats, it can help you determine whats causing ur batt drain
*
betterbatterystats need to pay one =.=""

It wasn't draining like this last week. Just these few days. Hmm..

Actually it is not advisable to use google backup. Sometimes you update to different rom, old files from previous roms are downloaded into your device and can cause problems. Thats why it is recommended to use apps such as TB where you can choose what to restore.

Something is keeping your phone awake. Use the better batt stat to check.

wow, some app is keeping ur phone awake big time, look at the awake tab, even though ur phone is in standby, ur phone is awake about 70-80% of the time, this is caused by an app, not the phone itself.

Gaah, just tried out my camera on a piece of white paper and I could see the whole thing turn pink in the center.

I am already running KI3 and updated to the latest camera firmware. I think the pink spot is due to how the sensor deals with low light, because the second the picture becomes brighter / the LED is used, it disappears

I did the experiment on an A4 size paper a few seconds ago. I got a little patch of greenish tint. Hmmm...
