dont know whether you guys met such situation, when your family or friends know that you are buying silver, they will ask what for investing in silver, get gold! Its a sad case that my area not much people know about silver and imagine 1 day when hyperinflation came, all the money in their bank account will become no different with toilet paper. Eg, my mother will say she felt safe if she put her money in bank. She ask me, what for buy gold? what for buy silver? Share your experience here

Of course, this is common. especially among silver investor.

I can tell you, people will understand if you buy gold, but when you buy silver, even more people question your brain cell working or not.

Anyway, there's no way to convince them, you will have to let them know slowly, sometimes when news comes up, show them. Honestly when I see a silver coin last year, I will tell you, money better lah, piece of stupid metal for what? cannot eat. ha ha... now I'm overloaded with silver.

You can only help these people save, tell your mom, give you some money to invest as a precaution. she will give maybe 0.1% of what she have, use that to buy some gold and silver. in the future when precious metal becomes the currency, give that back to her and use your other PM to buy food to keep your family alive.

Anyway, if everyone in the world already know silver is important, it will be selling at USD 200 to 400 per oz, not at current level. So feel lucky that you notice silver at this point in time and feel sorry for those who come in later. smile.gif

well in simple term and RM...

ppl selling in SLS silver bar for RM130-135

while in fact if u buy urself from overseas with min of 100oz, u can get around RM115 including shipping.

so RM15-20 save per oz we talking about here.
but of coz we cant blame seller for selling RM10-20 above the market. bcoz they selling their item and hardwork. and we certainly not aiming to close their market or whatsoeva.

d aim is to pool buying, so we could get a cheaper alternative. RM10-20 saving for each oz, and if u buy around 10oz u already save RM100. for me its worth it.

OK, that's a good objective.
But bear in mind SLS prices can change overnite. I tot i saw silver bars selling for RM125.

I don't think bulk buy, pre-order and ask for big volume importer to help will work.
What i'll probably do once i sold all my wolfs, is create some sort of wish list where buyers note how many bars they want.
Once i those bars arrive i will contact those on the list and sell at cheap cheap price.

If buyers FFK, then what to do, i will not sell at cheap cheap price next time.
Which is probably why SLS ppl are selling at those prices.
Time is money. The faster I can sell, the cheaper I will sell it.

Hi getsmart,

That was what I propose quite a while ago, i think about 2 months back, a wish list for buyer to buy, and a sell list for seller with goods to sell. If the FB group can do this, it will be great, if not, as mentioned, I need to get someone to write a webpage like this to see if it help everyone here.

the fact is, people here just think that cash is the most important now. Even if u buy gold, they will giving u the same answer like silver. I found out that most of the malay buying more gold and silver than chinese. Im chinese and 1 of the most common thing happen around us is, chinese people is very mind to let other people know what they doing and how much money they have. Chinese never listen easily to other people because when u tell them gold or silver, they will think that you want to earn their money (of course i want to earn, but with reasonable price thumbup.gif ) They wont believe what you promote to them. This is typical chinese.

yup. so true bro, so true. i'm chinese myself and i can see a lot of our malaysian chinese thinks only they themselves are financial savvy. God forbid if a malay chap tries to advise them about financial matters! tongue.gif

To me it doesn't matter what race a person is as long as he/she talks sense. smart ppl comes in all forms & race. but to many of our malaysian chinese when it comes to money matters, malay = cannot compare with chinese . haihzzz... i suppose the only way to make them see the light is when gold/silver is 10x today's price

Hi Chef!

I'm not sure what website you are talking about, but I have recently started a simple silver website. Mostly to host some useful information that I saw from Lowyat forum. Here is the website: http://www.silverinmalaysia.com
As you guys can see, I'm not selling anything up there. The purpose of me doing the website is mainly try to learn and practise some SEO (if you don't know what this is, it doesnt really matter). It so happen that silver is an area of my interest, that's why I start hosting a silver website.

Not sure what website you are talking about? If you are talking about a simple placing order webpage, I have just made a page and people can just leave a comment as the order / booking. Here is the page:
http://silverinmalaysia.com/?page_id=87
In order to make it exclusive for Lowyat member, I have protected the page with a password, please enter "lowyatsilver" when the page prompt a password

*Guys, do let me know if you think this is useful. If it is not, do let me know how can I make it useful.

Thanks!

yup, register an account, login, on top of the page type "silver shop lot", you should be able to see the result. i just tried it, there is only one result, click on it and you will see the page. you will probably need to press the "like" button or "join" button before you are officially in the group.
enjoy!

Let me check it out tomorrow, going to sleep now. smile.gif

But if it allows us to put up wish list and sell list, it should compliment FB group and we do not need to sell our staff here anymore, just leave a signature here.

Sure! One page for Wish List, one page for Sell List
Lowyat Silver Sell List
Lowyat Silver Wish List

To maintain the "exclusiveness" for lowyat member, both pages are protected by password: lowyatsilver
Do check it out and tell me what you guys think!

(I will make the website looks prettier soon tongue.gif )
