Will do. Might wanna buy some perth mints since it looks so nice. Maybe just buy for temporary collection...or else will feel like "not satisfied" because never see silver coins in real. Haha!  sweat.gif

And will buy ASE in the near future.  icon_rolleyes.gif

for perth mint, i suggest you dont go into there too soon. there are some coins are selling with ridiculous prices. the price could be as high as 2x to 3x of ASE. which means for the same amount of money, you could buy 2-3 ASE but only 1 oz of perth mint coin. the demand for the collector coins might not be as high as the standard legal tender (such as ASE).

but if you insist, i could only say good luck icon_rolleyes.gif

Anyway, this is the pic... Just took it... Sorry for my messy table...

great!
just note that if you are buying small amount of silver from perth mint, it would be more cost effective to buy from local sellers

Yea, I actually notice that... Umm, for the two perth mints that I mentioned just now, I think it won't cost me more than RM150 per piece right now... The premium isn't so high. Still consider reasonable for me nod.gif

Washing Machines
Not what you are thinking, so please don’t start taking apart your old washing machine looking for silver. The silver we are talking about is in the new Samsung washing machines that inject silver ions into the rinse cycle in order to kill 99.9% of bacteria that causes odors. By using about 1 ounce of silver, these Samsung washing machines can sanitize over 3,000 loads, this means no hot water or bleach necessary, just a dash of silver.

Talking about Washing Machines, I just blogged about it not so long ago: http://investsilvermalaysia.com/washing-ma...5-silver-plate/ laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

I was just wondering if a silver bar with a serial number on it will carry a significant premium though? I know that the PAMP bars do but what about other bars like engelhard, J&M etc. Thoughts anyone?

Engelhard and J&M are no longer in production and are considered as the grand daddy of silver bars. it has added "vintage" value onto it. PAMP are nicknamed the "Royce Rolls" of precious metals be it Gold or Silver.

based on my understanding, pamp suisse known internationally. Easy to trade. Also similar case to coins with legal tender like american silver eagle, maple leaf, etc.

And take note. Malaysia customs now impose tax legal tender silver coins imported from oversea. This might be the reason why premium bars/coins sold over spot.

I believe the tax will only be applied to legal tender coins not for bars and rounds, no?

most manufacturer no longer put serial no to their bar unless it is a 10 oz bar. Some got serial no some don;t have. cheap one no serial no.
Older bar got serial no. engelhard, JM all/most got serial no.
Problem is additional cost in embrossing the serial no into the bar, it need a laser machine and done one at a time.
Thus very time consuming.

Yes. You are correct. Coins with any legal tender by any government on it will be taxed 15%. Silver bars and rounds are all non-taxable.

All the best in your silver investment.
