I wanted to ask is MBB debit card can be use as ATM at Taiwan?

Anyone here using Ambank card?

Does this card works well in both physical outlet and online transaction?

This afternoon went to pump petrol, first i insert my credit card but it replied with message "transaction canceled", tried again 2nd time, also "transaction canceled" - (it means unsuccess .)
Than I tried with my debit card, the screen come out with message "please remove card." I thought the transaction also got canceled (unsuccess)!
So i take my card and drove away without filling petrol.
After that i think back the situation, i realized that the transaction on debit card was actually successful but i didn't pick up the pump to pump petrol. What if the next person who came to fill petrol, he was able to just pick-up the pump and pump petrol for free and the charge will be debit into my account !

If transaction is unsuccessful then it will issue receipt but without amount that been charged... If it didn't issue receipt then it was successful and u can pump petrol.... If the next person are bad then they will pump and the amount are been charged to you.... U check your bank account see whether there is rm200 on hold or been deducted....

I want to ask you all, the pin number for old visa electron, after the card expire, they issue a new one to me. Is it same pin as old? (cos old card and this renew card is same number except last 3 digi only) Do I need to go to bank to reset the pin or I can directly using old pin?

Q1: How to use this debit card to buy online? i tried to purchase movie ticket seems like having trouble. Do i need to activate at ATM first? when i go to ATM and wanna register for mobile and pbebanking. they rejected d card, maybe coz its debit card, not an atm card?

is anybody use Maybank Debit card to withdraw cash from ATM machine???

I think You need to Activate Your New Card before U can Use It , becoz is an Inactive. Card..
they separately sent out Pin to You for New Card...
or Not better go to branch to Reset (obtain) Your New PIN

As frequent as 10 times a month or even more often. The VISA purchase function of my Maybank debit card is deactivated though. Any particular reason you are asking ?

Actually I wanna mean is anybody try withdraw from Maybank Debit Visa at ATM while at Taiwan... Cos i going run off of cash ald...

Actually when they send me the new card, I had try already, I can buy thing from amazon.
(Same as previous card) I just update it to latest last 3 number. Then that day when they send a new card, it state there will be another mail for pin but I not receive it after a few week. I think I have to go check whether the old pin can work or not.
For amazon part, when I receive new card, I just have to update the expire date cos all the number is same and it not require the last 3 digit at all.

hi guys, recently i just purchase a product from karmaloop.com and it cost me 49.72USD which is RM153.20 if i times 3.1 (current USD currency), but when i use my debit card to purchase it, it charged me RM161.63, i didnt understand where did that extra rm8+/- come from? issit some sort of PBB service charge? thanks.

Hey guys, i tried to use my Maybank visa debit to purchase from Topman online store. I tried to finish the transactions about 5 times and all of them failed to go through. When I checked my bank balance, the first 3 transactions i tried were refunded immediately while 2 weren't refunded. So I called the customer service, they said it would take around 16 working days and if the amount isn't returned by then I would need to file a report. Anyone face such situation before and should I be worried?

I think hye has done it in Korea before. I personally have done it in Singapore. It shouldn't be problem with Taiwan's ATM. Just make sure you have the overseas ATM services activated before leaving for Taiwan.


Usually they will credit the money back into your account. However, if it doesn't happen within the time frame the Maybank CS told you, then file a complaint. Shouldn't be a big problem.

Yup, that's right. The key is to activate the overseas function at a MBB ATM before leaving the country. If it works in one country, it will work everywhere.
To note, you can't call CS to activate the function (even though it is life or death) - they won't entertain such request for security purposes.

Hi guys, just now I received sms that my Public Bank debit card was used to purchase someone online using Visa. I called the hotline and cancelled my card already, but the balance is still deducted under available balance. May I know if I have to sort this out at the home branch or I can just call them again? I not activate at ATM... Before I went, I call CS and activated it.... I can swipe it but I not sure about withdrawing it....

Yes it can be done, you need to activate it at the nearest Maybank ATM for overseas withdrawal (set it to be permanent) so that it can be use to any country you go. Yes it has worked for me in India, Singapore, US, Abu Dhabi and Indonesia

Yes, I have encounter the same situation but with Paypal which all this while it has been successful but I've got this problem from a merchant from UK, and yes I have contacted Maybank CC CS and lodge a report which they will refund the monies back to your account within 16 days.

can I ask here: is BSN Matrix-I visa electron card (activated for overseas) able to withdraw money in European ATMs?

Hi forumers... Wanted to ask some recommendations for debit card... Currently using CIMB Debit card but I find its not very versatile...

My usual spending habits using the debit card are:
- mainly fuel, some occasional grocery shopping & dining
- once in a while online purchasing: movie tickets, Groupon, books (this is where I think CIMB Debit card sucks, only those with CIMB Clicks verified can be used, otherwise no other online purchases at all)

So I would like a debit card with some cash-back benefits and able to use as credit card i.e. online purchases or at any VISA / MasterCard certified places or websites...

So far, I think the PBB Day2Day Card is the best option... Any other good recommendations?
